Hi all. On our next trip DH and DS have expressed an interest on using bikes. Does anyone know what it cost to rent bikes as we have no way to get our bikes there. Also, what does it cost to wash and dry laundry? Thinking we may need to throw a load in since we aren't rolling in new clothes every day. Had considered one of those washing machines that looks like a barrel with a crank, but not sure it's worth the cost for as little as it would be used. Thanks all!

not sure about the bikes but its $2.00 to wash a load of clothes and an additional $2.00 to dry them.

I can't remember the bike prices either but I do know a helmet comes with each bike and they have to be returned each night. If you're staying long enough it might be worth buying bikes from Wal-Mart.

Bike rental is $20.65 + tax a day until 5:30pm. If you intend to have a bike for more than 3 days...it would actually be cheaper to purchase one from Walmart, since you can usually get one for about $60-$65 from there, at the end of the trip if you dont have room to bring the bikes home...just pick a family in your loop and give them your bikes...make a magical moment of your own....It would have cost you more to rent them anyway.

Wow! That's a lot. Think we will skip the bikes and just go with the parks as planned. They are thinking about adding the water parks to our tix and that may actually be a better route to go.

FW is getting too expensive for us. Just found out how expensive breakfast has gotten at TE and how they have cut so many choices from the menu.

Guess if people keep paying the prices though, they will keep raising them. Sad. :sad2:

haha..that $20.65 was posted in January of 2007...so its very likely that the price has even raised since THAT!!! It IS sad.

How about a backwoods Maytag!! 1 5-gallon paint bucket and a plunger, then another 5-gallon paint bucket with some holes poked in the sides and a piece of rope.

Wash the clothes in the 1 bucket using the plunger as an agitator, drain the water, then add fresh water for the rinse, then place them in the other bucket with several small holes drilled in the sides (like a strainer), hang it from a tree with a rope and twist it up, then let go and back up!! Spin cycle!!!

LOL...Redneck Inginuity.....cant be beaten!!!

For best results, use a new plunger.

I have considered finding a washer dryer stack pack and taking it in my trailer with my golf cart. Wouldn't take much to hook it up for cold water washing and they make some small appartment size units.
