We are getting married this November in WDW. We love the Mickey Wave cake and I was wondering how much the price of this cake (or any of the Disney cakes) are. There are prices for so much on the website but I could not find anything on cakes. We have not gotten back our contract yet and I am sure, I hope, we will get that info but I we have been working on our budget this weekend. There will probably be 60 people at the wedding. Not sure if the prices are per piece - or just by size.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

Linda

Most cakes seem to cost between $600-800 for three tiers, which is the smallest they'll let you do. (Well, Ember was able to convince them to give her a two-tier cake, which is in the neighborhood of $400, but my WP said no way.)

They say the three-tier cakes serve a minimum of 50 people, and everyone always seems to have tons leftover.

Thanks for the price info - 3-tiers would be fine I am sure, now we just need to pick flavors.

I didn't realize this was a rare thing! I was back and forth on cakes and my planner accidentally sent me a picture of a two tiered birthday cake. I wrote her and asked about it and she got back to me and said it wasn't a problem... Aren't the intimate (sorry, I forget the new name for the smaller weddings) cakes only two tiers? They obviously make them, so I wonder what the problem is??

I didn't realise that they enforce 3 tier cakes.

We're only having around 25 of us, so we really wouldn't need this amount of cake!!

I'm going to try for a 2 tier and see how I get on.......

Once You Get Planning Your Planner Will Send You A Cd And Pricelist Of All The Disney Cakes There Are Lots To Choose From! Most Of The Cakes Are Priced Per Person, Iam Only Having 50 People, I Have A 3 Tier Cake (that Way I Can Keep The Top Tier For Our 1 Yr Anniversary) My Cake Was $500. It Is Almond W/bailey Filling On 2 Layers Then Middle Layer Is Yellow W/butterceam. I Found My Cake Topper On Ebay For Half The Price That Lenox Wanted.

Well, my planner is The Enforcer when it comes to most things I want to do differently than what's standard! :rotfl: Maybe other planners don't have a problem with it. Don't let me scare you! ;)

Can someone who's done the planning already tell how the cakes are priced? Are you just priced per slice, or do you pay an additional fee for design work and stuff?

They are priced by the slice. The more elaborate the cake or the more work involved, the more each slice costs. The price varies quite a bit. It is also important to remember if you are having a wished wedding that you get a $2.50/slice cutting fee added on. You need to figure that into the price of the cake.

Hmm... they didn't even mention a cutting fee to me - they just took my design and came back with a quote for the whole thing.

That's pretty sneaky - why should we have to pay a cutting fee when we bought the cake from Disney and are serving it at a Disney reception site? It's not like we're bringing in our own cake to a restaurant or something!

Where was your reception? I could see California Grill charging a fee....

That's one of those things that I think isn't always there. We designed our cake and they came back to us with a price per slice and there wasn't an additional cake fee on top of that, so maybe when they quote you, they just add it in

My reception was at the boardwalk. It is added in to the price per slice. We also had a groom's cake at our welcome dinner at Ariel's and got slapped with it there too. I couldn't agree with you more that it is completely ridiculous! Disney made the cake, served it at my reception on disney property and still charged the cutting fee. It is one of those little details that drove me crazy.
