Has anyone ever used Priceline to go to Disney? It says they look for direct flights first then one connection flights and so on. I just want to know if anyone was able to get a direct flight.

Thanks in advance!

If you plan to Priceline the air tickets, plan for an extra day at each end of the trip that you are NOT counting on as play time. Since the times you get cannot be predicted, it is entirely possible that you will get a late-night flight outbound, and an early-bird flight inbound, cutting the effective length of the trip by two days. (Example: flight down leaves your home airport at 9 pm, flight home leaves Orlando at 6:30 am.) You could also get a long layover which will cause the same effect. Of course, you could get lucky and get an early flight down and a late one back, but *don't* count on that.

Pricelining hotels and rental cars doesn't affect the length of your trip; I use those all the time.

My sons used Priceline to Disney 2 years ago after deciding at the last minute they wanted to join us. They got a 6:10 AM flight out of Seattle the day they left, and a 7 AM flight out of MCO the day they came home. The going flight was good, got in late afternoon, but the coming home not so great - they were back in Seattle by noon and really didn't need to get home until midnight. But it was worth the cost savings for them - would have cost several hundred dollars more had they bought a regular ticket. And they only had one stop, in St. Louis. Not unusual to have one stop coming from the West Coast though.

When we went in 2001 we got non-stop flights on Delta for only $125 each (plus fees and taxes etc.)! We saved so much $$ ! The times were not the best, but the $$ we saved allowed us to add an extra day to our vacation. (Like the above poster suggested, we added the extra day to our priceline bid just in case, and it was a good thing we did, since it was almost midnight by the time we got checked into our hotel. The return flight was not as bad.)

Priceline is great for saving you money, but you have to be very flexible, and you can't change your plans once you place your bid. You have to be able to accept whatever flight they put you on, there are NO refunds once you place a bid. But if you do your research, and educate yourself about Priceline, it can be a great way to go! I have always had excellent luck with them, both for flights and for hotels.

Check out Bidding for Travel . They are an invaluable resource for information on Priceline!

Good luck!
