I've never used priceline before but was gonna give it a shot. I'm looking for a room in Mobile, Alabama around Thanksgiving. Priceline only gave me the option of 1 or 2 star hotels. Any idea why?? I also don't like that you have to just take what they give you before you know what hotel it is. That can be scary in a 1 or 2 star can't it?
Any suggestions?
TIA

Thanks Dan, I also recieved a pm with a link to that site. Guess it's worth looking at. I'm gonna see if I can figure it out. If not I have 1 reservation already that I'll hold onto. I just don't travel enough anywhere except WDW to know if it's a good rate or not!! LOL

They only offered 1 or 2 * because that is all that is available in that area. Pricelines inventory of rooms is based on what the hotles are willing to give them. In Mobile, apparently only hotels that are considered 1* or 2* are participating.

As for having to take what you get, unfortuently that is the catch with priceline. You can get an awesome deal but you have to take the risk of not knowing where you will be staying.

The reservation I have now is a 3 star (Radisson Admiral) for $62/night (discount for "turkey day classic"). Sounds ok to me although like I said, I never travel so I might be wrong! This is just too close to Christmas for me to want to spend a lot of money that I don't have! I'd like to find a 4 or 5 star for $20/night!! LOL:p

Hi,

Regarding your last comment if PL has rooms available that are higher rated in Mobile, you won't get them for $20/nite.

A 3*hotel generally goes for about $30-40 nite plus PL fees and tax. Sometimes, less but not often.

I just used priceline for a Europe trip DS is taking. I did get a 4* i Greece for him, but it was still $85. plus fees.

Have you tried quikbook.com, hotels.com,hote kingdom.com
