I'm currently planning a trip to WDW for the beginning of April, about eight months from now. I don't mind staying offsite, but want to be close to the action, so I was going to use Priceline in the hopes of getting one of the DTD hotels. I was looking on the Priceline website but can't find the answer I need......how far in advance can you book through Priceline?

You can make reservations up to 364 days ahead of time (approximately) but you will probably pay more than if you bid a little closer to your departure time. Check Sheryl's board, www.biddingfortravel.com and read the FAQ's for important bidding strategy information. There's no guarantee that you'll get a DTD hotel, but if you're willing to take a chance and accept that you may not, then Priceline can save you a TON of money.

You can book 8 months in advance. I would recommend that go to Biddling For Travel for more information on bidding on Priceline. Make sure to read the Hotels FAQ and the Orlando Board. The FAQ will help you bid and the Orlando Board will tell you the kind of prices that others have paid for specific hotels and dates. For instance, the DTD Best Western comes up a lot in the $25-$28 range, depending on the dates.

A couple points to remember, PL's availability changes all the time. Set a bidding limit and stick to it. If you hit your limit without a hotel do not dispair! Availability is usually better closer to your dates. If you're the nervous type, make a back up reservation that you can cancel and keep on trying. I once had to wait until 2 weeks before my dates to get a place at the price I was willing to pay :). Also, remember that you cannot cancel a reservation made through PL. Make sure your dates are set in stone.

Thanks :) I'm not going to book the hotel until we have the plane tickets first, and we won't be doing that until we have our dates set (actually, the dates are set, just need to be sure my SO can get them off work). While I want a DTD hotel, I'm prepared for the possiblity that we may get one in the LBV area by going through priceline. We're going to figure out how much we want to spend over the next couple of weeks and make a final decision then. The information is greatly appreciated :) :) :)

Just wanted to add I got a night at the Best Western LBV for 8/30 for $25 I made the bid the second week in July. Good Luck
