I've used Priceline MANY times (Name your own price), but i've only ever used it for 2 people.

I'm going to San Francisco this weekend with my mil, fil, sil, dh, and me..so we will need two rooms, one room with me and my dh, the other room with the rest of them...

I know prices are based off of double occupancy, so what ends up happening when we get to the hotel? Do we get charged more when we actually check in for that extra person?

They tell you they can't guarantee 2 beds, so if you need more than one bed it's better to book 2 rooms. We've used them also and have called the hotel after we booked and asked for 2 beds. Almost always we've gotten them.

Ya, I've called too about receiving two beds (sometimes me and DH need our sleep!)

But I'm just wondering if most hotels charge for that extra person? I'm just wondering if it's some outrageous fee like 50 bucks or something..

I know that there are many families on the boards that have used priceline for their family of four for one room, and just want to know what the outcome is
