I have a question about using those companies. I have read many threads here that it is not uncommon to get rooms through priceline for $30-40.00 a night. My question is what price amount do you request? If I put $60.00 am I going to get a room close to $60.00 or will I automatically get a room for $35.00 if they can do that? I was just thinking why would they give it to me for $35.00 when I said that I was willing to go to $60.00. How does it work? Thank you for your help. Cristen

Check out biddingfortravel.com

At this website, they give you all the info you need for bidding at priceline. They give you recommendations on how much you should bid based on where and when you're bidding. Be sure to read all the frequently asked questions sessions before posting. Good luck! I've had lots of luck with priceline. We've gotten two hotels in Kissimmee, Fl (one hotel for $22 a night and another for $25 - 2* hotel for the former and 2.5* for the latter). It all depends on what star level hotel you want and location. HTH
