I just got the Regal Sun in DTD for the 1st night of my trip and the last night in May of 2010 for $44. I guess the resort fee will be added onto that but I still feel it is a good deal.
I think you got a great deal. My hubby likes to stay here since it is so close to DTD and kids love the pool area. Looking on their website there are Fl/GA resident deals for 69.99 which is the cheapest rate offered through them, so I may have to try to bid for a better rate like you got. They will charge a resort fee but when we were there this past Dec. they didn't charge parking like some of the other hotels do.
That really tells us nothing other than you tried one bid for one night and didn't get it, which happens all the time. Experienced bidders know how to use the system to get multiple bids and will try over and over to get their price. My last hotel was booked in Atlanta for an overnight stay this saturday night and it took me over 100 tries before I got something that I wanted. I could have tried once and given up but instead I got a 3.5 star hotel for $36
I used priceline last year for a room for my sister and her son. I booked the Ramada Orlando Celebration for $30 per night. It's right across the freeway from the Wide World of Sports Complex and the rooms were clean, so no complaints (especially at that price).
I was able to book a night on Priceline for November.. We needed a night prior to our Boardwalk stay for 6 nights. I was happy to get the Hotel Royal Plaza for 55 !! I called and they said it was a room with 2 beds. I always call if I use priceline to ask for the 2 beds ahead of time. I have never had a problem getting 2 beds.
You bid in the Disney Zone for a 3.5 hotel and there a 3 downtown Disney hotels in this zone along with Nick hotel. Any of them would have been fine for the night. I always use www.biddingfortravel.com to get information before I bid.

We booked a 3.5 star room on hotwire for $57/night. Regal Sun Resort was the hotel that we "won". It was worth it for the two nights we stayed there. I would book again with Hotwire!
