Has anyone used Priceline or something similar in Canada? I've never used anything like this and was wondering about bidding for car rental? I've read many posts of Americans doing this but nothing about Canadians.
I'm practically priceline obsessed!!! I've used it in Orlando a few times, but also many times in Niagara Falls, ON, Toronto, Ottawa and Windsor to name a few. These were all for hotels though as I've never tried to get a car through priceline. Keep in mind that your bids are in American dollars so make sure that even with the exchange rate, it's still worth your while. Last weekend, for example, we stayed at a Residence Inn Marriott in Toronto with a $33 dollar bid (about $45 Canadian with exchange rate, priceline fee and tax). The room was SUPER, there was a free hot buffet breakfast included and a pool and hottub all to ourselves. We felt like we hit the jackpot!
Sorry I can't help you with car rental, but I just wanted to say that I've used priceline many times in Canada and have always been pleased.
Thanks, we're going to need 2 vans for our trip to Disney area in Nov. and was wondering about trying Priceline. We probably won't book them until later on but wanted to gather some info about Priceline first.
I'm a Priceline novice but I did manage to use it to get a fantastic rate at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver last summer. Have you checked out the tips and tricks at betterbidding.com? It's a good intro. to understanding and making the best of using Hotwire and Priceline.
