Going to try this for a room for weekend. Does anyone know (i want only 3.5 + stars) which area is closest to DTD or wow?

It says Lake Buena Vista, sea world, Celebration, Universal, Disney main gate....

Obviously LBV and what else would be REALLY close? thanks:p

I was looking at priceline today, looking for a room for the night before we check into boardwalk inn. I thought there was a LBV/downtown disney option, so that was what I Used. Anyway, in the process of all of that research, I saw that Clarion Inn LBV had a spring special for $45 a night... The reviews are mixed but the majority say it was clean and decent. And it has new pool/splash area and its very near DTD. According to better bidding.com, many people looking for disney areas on priceline were getting clarion, so I just went ahead and booked directly with them. I did do one bid at $45 just to see what would happen, and it didn't accept it. So this is a pretty good deal. I'm usually a hotel snob, but we will deal for just one night.
If you do decide to bid, post back what you get, and good luck!

Really close would probably be LBV and Main Gate. Celebration wouldn't be too bad, but SW and Universal aren't considered "really close" - like maybe 15-20 min.

We've done this a couple times before checking into Poly and Contemporary. Fine hotel for one night, but definitely not the "3.5+ stars" the OP is looking for! Rooms are clean (OK, we did find a huge palmetto bug in the bathtub, but hey, it's Florida!) and lots of restaurants close by. The noise from the interstate is annoying, especially if you're a light sleeper, but the rooms facing the parking lot are a little quieter.

For $45, I'd definitely stay a night there again.

Another thing to check out is an app called "hotel tonight". You can only purchase a room starting at noon the day you want to check in, so you have to be flexible, but there are some great deals on there. We booked the Wyndham near Universal for under $50 and it included hot breakfast. I have a code to share for $25 off first booking - message me if you're interested.

Hmmm LOL I don't know what's up with that! I know when I booked the Wyndham, the cheapest rate online was nearly $100. The hotel tonight rate was under $75 and with the $25 credit for booking for the first time, it was under $50. Maybe it's only really a good deal when you can use that $25 off. :confused3

There are usually about 5-7 hotels each day. If you keep a watch, you see the same ones popping up.

Just out of curiosity, I looked at the app and Hotel Tonight has the Clarion for $52. The lowest price I could find on the website for tonight was $65. :confused3 Were you definitely looking at the right Clarion (there are a few)? So if you were to use the extra $25 off, that would be a pretty good deal.

I'll send you a PM now...
