Priceline, Hotwire, Travelocity and MCO Hyatt?

We HAVE to stay at the Airport Hyatt. We're meeting up w/another family and we all want the convenience of DCL taking our luggage to DCL bus.

We booked a room there mos. ago for our May trip for 144.00 per night.

Am I correct (from what I've read on all three of the above websites) in understanding that it's a gamble if I want to try for one of these super-low rates?

I'm not thrilled about paying 144.00 when some people have gotten Hyatt for 42.00, but I'd feel even worse putting $$ on a hotel we won't use.

I guess it's one of those 'you get what you pay for' scenarios, and I want the assurance that we have the hotel we want.

Do all of the .com travel sites work the same way?

I did the priceline thing and got lucky 38 hyatt. but first I made sure I would be happy at any of the hotels it could be before I Bid. If you have to have the Hyatt then I wouldn't do any of the .coms its not a sure thing. Good luck

We got MCO Hyatt at the price of $ 38 for the night Before and after the cruise. However, if you HAVE to stay at MCO Hyatt, priceline won't work for you!

You want to check with Hotwire. Some cruisers were able to get it for $ 28.

If you have to stay at the Hyatt and cannot accept an off-site hotel, and you don't want to gamble $30-40 on the chance of saving some money, then you should not use Priceline or Hotwire.

Hotwire is a better gamble than Priceline (although you could still end up elsewhere). On Priceline, you only pick a category, and you don't see the amenities of your choices. On Hotwire, you get a list of hotels with their amenities and prices, but no names. The MCO Hyatt doesn't have a shuttle, so that's one way to tell (but I think I've seen other people say they've gotten another location without a shuttle...not sure which one, as all the higher and mid star level hotels I've stayed at near MCO have one).

Just last week....wanted Hyatt and got the Holiday Inn Select for $38 on Priceline.

Ditto - we also got Holiday Inn/Airport - shuttle for our next cruise.
Doing Barb's suggestion and using the limo this time though!
AHHH, learning what Disney Royalty feels like!! But it will only be our 8th cruise (6th time on the Magic)!
