Hello! I am trying to priceline a hotel for our summer DLR Trip. The terms and condition says rooms are only guaranteed for 2 guests. What do you guys do if you have 2 kids and 2 adults? Has anybody ever run into this being an actual problem after bidding?

Thats good to know! We have our hotel booked for DLR at the Fairfield already, but I decided to book a hotel down near Carlsbad for a couple nights first, instead of driving from DL to Legoland for 2 days in a row. So I wanted to try priceline, but now I'm scared! It's good to hear others experiences with this issue!

Thanks again!

I've used Priceline 12 times this past year. Hotels I've gotten were the Hilton, Crown Plaza, Red Lion, Holiday Inn Manchester rd, Doubletree and Crown Plaza Fullerton. Each time I have gotten rooms with two queens without problem. At Holiday Inn I paid $15 at check in to upgrade to a kids suite with bunk beds.

Priceline only guarantees 2 people so it is possible a hotel can give you only a king bed. I have not once had that happen though.

I have called immediatly after booking and some hotels have said the room is decided at check in but they will make a note on my account.

All 12 trips this past year I have been able to get 2Q. If you call and they won't guarantee you 2Q then make sure you check in early in the day, even well before the normal 3pm if possible as more rooms will be available then.

Use Betterbidding.com or biddingfortravel.com to get a pretty good idea of which hotel you will get and how much to bid. All of mine have been won for $40-$60. Note that most 3 or 4 star hotels charge parking in the Disney area. Still, $40+$15 parking = $55...a bargain for a 3 1/2 star hotel.

I have used Priceline for many other cities and have always gotten 2Q rooms when I've asked for them. You could use Hotwire which guarantees you enough beds for 4 people but the prices are not as good as you'd get with Priceline but still cheaper than rack rate.

We travel with 2 twin-size air beds for my 2 boys in situations like this. Actually even in a room with 2 queens, we need 1 air bed because they can't sleep together, so DH & I share, 1 DS gets a bed, and other DS gets the air bed. If we get 2 doubles or a king, then both DS's get airbeds. It works, we're prepared, and we don't worry about beds then!
