We are planning our trip for June '02--when is it too early to book on Priceline? Any suggestions on how to get a suite type hotel? I have been looking on biddingfortravel.com--I'm having a hard time trying to understand that website--is it just me???

My husband uses priceline alot for business travel. I really want to be as close as posssible to Disneyland (walking distance if possible). The WestCoast Anaheim looks great, as well as Anabella, Portofino, and the Hilton and Marriott.

I think I might be asking for too much--for a discounted price! Any comments would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Sue:)

You can start bidding now and you can keep rebidding. Read the bidding website more. It takes a few times and then it starts to make sense, it's overwhelming and I know that people keep referring you back to the FAQ's but if you read it, it will all come together. Priceline only guarantees a room for 2 and it can be any 3 star hotel in that zone. I've loved all of ours so far! Most people seem to get a room that could accomodate 4, but they are not guaranteeing that. I use it all the time and feel it saves us a bundle.

Look on Expedia to see how much rates would be if you book with them, then ask for bidding advice: your dates, price range you would like, star, etc. At the moment there isn't any bonus money so you might want to hold out to see if shows up. Who knows!

Good luck!

I reserved a room through Priceline for the first week of June in Anaheim a couple of weeks ago and got the Westcoast Anaheim at $42. I found the information at biddingfortravel.com to be wonderful and wouldn't have had the confidence to try Priceline without it. I did post my winning bid there on 2/24. As for suggestions on how to get a suite type hotel - from what I can tell, Priceline wouldn't be the best for that situation. We just returned from a trip with our 2 children and really wanted suite accomodations, so we booked conventionally at Embassy Suites. I was tempted to save money through Priceline, but since we were staying a whole week, we really wanted the space of the suite. The trip in June is without kids, so we had more flexibility on the type of room. Good luck!

Thank you very much for your reply!

We decided to stay at DLH afterall this trip! We got a pretty good rate ($99./nite AP rate)

I think the next time we go, I will try bidding on Priceline. The Westcoast Anaheim sounds great...I would actually hope to get that over the Marriott or the Hilton!

Thanks again,
Sue:)
