Hi all....

Am going to FL 2 days prior to sailing!!! While searching the web for hotels...I decided to try priceline. I figure....what can I lose?! Anyway, the hotels are rated by stars...1 star being an ok place to stay, 2 stars being above average and 3 stars being upscale...the best there is. So I played the game and put in $45.00 per night and chose 3 star upscale. Obviously, this was denied. It prompted me to add $13.00 dollars to my price and it would be able to search again but if I didnt up my bid $13.00, it could no longer search. So....I said what the heck and up'd my bid to $58.00 per night. This time I was accepted. Nervous I was at what hotel I am now stuck with because if you dont know...when using priceline, if you are approved, your cc is automatically charged and there are NO refunds or cancellations.

I closed my eyes and clicked on view hotel. When I opened my eyes, I found the Lake Buena Vista Best Western Resort. I was a little disappointed because I know that you can get Best Western pretty cheap. So, I went to the Best Western site and looked up what a room would cost at this hotel and to my amazement, it was $129.99 per night and it is located in the Disney World Resort!!!! Now I am happy, 2 nights for the price of one basically!!!! :)

I dont think I did half bad for my first time......or did I? lol

Just wanted to share this experience!!!!

Congratulations!
I love playing the Priceline game. We like to bid Resort level and almost always end up in Downtown Disney. You can even get Swan or Dolphin, although I never have gotten them personally. We once got the Gaylord Palms for under $100 and they put us in a room with a view that normally goes around $300! For the night before our cruises, we bid airport area at the highest star level and usually get the Marriott for arounf $25 to $28.

I use pricelines cousin, lowestfare.com and booked the radisson for $61 a night after the cruise

I think that's a great price. BTW, I got this tip off one of the bidding sites: before you start bidding, make a table with all the available areas and what hotel types they have in them. Then if your initial bid for a 3-star gets denied, you can add in an area that only has 1 or 2 star hotels and then Priceline will let you raise your price $5 or $10 or whatever you want. Since the areas you added in have no 3 star hotels, it's impossible for you to get a hotel in those areas, and it lets you raise your bid by the amount you want to raise it.
