Priceline - "Disneyland Area" hotels... any advice?

My daughter has been begging to spend the night at a hotel - and she wants to go to Disneyland. We have So Cal annual passes which turn into pumpkins in July - so we are trying to get something in June. I would love to stay at the DLR but that's a bit out of my price range.

I am thinking I can get a 3 1/2 star hotel in the "Disneyland area" for about $50 a night with the name your price function - which is in my price range but I'm not sure how big of an area that is - will it be in walking distance? Have a shuttle? Charge for parking?

Anyone use Priceline to book a hotel in this area and have advice for me? :)

edited to fix typo - I hate typos...

We use priceline all the time when we go to DL. The hotels vary: some may be walking distance, some charge parking, some have free shuttles, some you have to use ART.

You can check out biddingfortravel.com (hope it is okay to post the site) to get an idea of the hotels that come up on priceline.

The last two times we got the Anaheim Hilton which is 3.5 stars for $46. It came to $59 after the fees and taxes for one night. However we did have to pay about $15 for parking. We drove to DL, so I am not sure if they had a free shuttle or not.

I think the two previous stays we got the Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort which is 3 stars for $43 a night before fees and taxes. I believe parking was free but you had to use ART to get to the parks or drive yourself.

Hope that helps!

Check out BetterBidding.com for priceline info. It has never steered me wrong on the hotel lists. Go to CA then Priceline hotel list and search for Disneyland.

I second that. Go to betterbidding.com and check the Priceline Orange County section to see what others are bidding and getting.

If you don't need to walk to the parks, I think the Hilton Anaheim is one of the best ones offered on there. We needed to walk so we had to go with a guarunteed hotel.

You guys are awesome! I knew I could get some great advise here!

Off to check the links.

Better bidding soesn't have as frequent priceline postings as biddingfortravel does. I use both. Betterbidding has hotwire wins but there seems to be more speculation than people posting actual wins. The closer (to your date)you bid on priceline for a 3 star the better you do. I'd start bidding no more than 2 weeks out. Read Biddingfortravel's faq's on rebid strategy.

Thanks for the tips - I was able to figure out how to bid again without raising my bid $12 and booked a room at the Hyatt Regency Orange County for $42 - after fees it was $54.57 and parking will run me $15 but they have a shuttle. :)

For that price we may get a room and shoot up next weekend

You'll have a great time...that Hyatt is a really nice hotel and you can't beat the convenience of their shuttle :thumbsup2

Congrats! We've used priceline.com for our last 2 visits. Both times I got the Crowne Plaza in Garden Grove for $42 per night (+ the $12 daily resort fee) I think they share a shuttle service with the Hyatt you got, it is nice ~ however if you want to get there early I suggest a cab. We used a cab for our MM.

I was wondering how was your stay at Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort?? This is were will be staying June 4th - 8th. :wizard:

I'm excited - my mom had stayed up in Garden Grove for business last year and liked her hotel - turns out it was this hotel
