Hi, I just read that many people get good rates at swan & dolphin with priceline.com. How do you know you will get the S&D when you name your price?? HELP!! hehe We were thinking of staying there at the end of November with my dad's govt. rate, but Id still love to get a cheaper rate. Thanks for any help!

Check out biddingfortravel.com because they have tons of tips about using priceline. I believe there are 5 hotels that you could possibly get with priceline... it's the Swan, Dolphin, Wyndam, Hilton, and maybe one other one?? I'm sure they'll have info on that site I gave you.

I have bid twice through Priceline for a resort in the WDW zone. The first one I got was for one night at the Hilton at WDW. We will be checking in next week before my work kicks in for the rest for a conference I am attending.

My second bid was for this summer. I bid for a resort over the July 4th weekend and received the Gaylord Palms, (which is the one I wanted). I bid 70 when I got the Hilton, and when I bid on the second one, I didn't get accepted until I bid 85.

You may get the place you want, but most likely you will not. Most likely you will get one of the hotles near downtown disney. Still very nice places.

Along with the biddingfortravel website, you might also try betterbidding.com for info on how to figure out what hotel you will get. Several people had great luck with getting Swan/Dolphin last summer using Hotwire. I remember reading some posts that with Hotwire you could click the airfare option and it would tell you the hotel before you actually bought it. I do think the Hotwire prices were around $109. You might want to do a search on the Dis Board for recent info on Hotwire and Priceline.
