Priceline Car Rental Experts

I thought this would be a great place for advice. We have a reservation for an upcoming trip, but thought we might be able to secure a lower rate through Priceline. Is it best to use Priceline closer to our arrival date? Also, does Priceline book with certain car rental companies at MCO. Thanks everyone!

I am interested to hear from Priceline users as well. I am planning a trip to san fran in June and I can save some money using hotwire. Thought I might give Priceline a try. Just waiting for the appropriate times.

In January we bid $17 a day (for 2 weeks) for a minivan, and "won" one through Alamo. I didn't care for alamo, and have posted on it here, but it was an excellent price. We bid about 2 weeks before our trip.

We got a minivan through Hertz 2 years ago(a shuttle takes you from MCO to Hertz, a quick 5 minutes ride). We had no problem with it. If I were going to do it again, I would wait about 2-3 weeks before my trip to make sure I couldn't get a better rate on the rental places website.

I happen to like that we have Alamo this year because it is right at the airport. The shuttle was not that big of a deal, however you have to plan about 1/2 hour -45 minutes extra for your return back to the airport.

It was a really good price. The best we had before that was $28. Of course, Alamo offered me the chance for an upgrade to an SUV for a mere $25 more a day.

We too used priceline for a SUV for 5 days during president's week..i ended up getting a better rate then all the other place could offer me for a intermediate size car. Keep trying and the closer you get to your trip the more likely they will accept it. People have told me that president's week is the most expensive time of year for car rentals..so if it worked for me then it should work for you!
