priceline and car rentals

Has anyone used Priceline lately to rent a car from the airport and what experiences have you had? Thanks.

We have used Priceline multiple times for car rentals and had no problems at all. Just remember that once you are accepted it cannot be changed.

We used priceline for a car rental in Jan. We got Hertz and it worked out great for us. I don't remember exactly what we were charged but it was a considerable savings.

Check www.biddingfortravel.com for any recent bids that have been accepted and a few that have been rejected. Just scroll down to the Rental Car area and click on Orlando. There's a lot of great information there.

We have gotten a minivan and compact car through Priceline and most times did save over booking conventionally. Only one time I had to book our minivan myself. Definitely check the bidding for travel website.

We got a full size in March for $20 a day. Don't know if we will do it again. It was Hertz, so we had to take the shuttle (extra loading and unloading of luggage), plus a long wait at the Hertz counter when we got there. Southwest seems to have pretty competitive rates, we usually book through there. You don't have to be flying with them to reserve a car. Diana

Priceline charges your card at the time your rate is accepted, right? We got a full size car for $25 a day for this coming weekend, and booked about 2 months ago, but I never checked my account to see if I had been billed.
