Price Reduction strategy?

Hi all,

Just booked Easter weekend at Portofino Bay. Right now rates are pretty high...$359/night, standard room, garden view. My question is this: I booked through AAA. Where should I keep an eye out for lower price offerings over the next six months, and then how do I go about getting my price reduced (ie call the hotel directly?AAA says they don't do this). Any tips you have would be a great help.. ...I realize they may not go down at all due to the holiday, but if they do, I'd like to take advantage

We got a discount with AAA, after calling a few times( 1 888-322-5541 ) I just got it last week for Jan/06. They probably won't have rates out till after the new year. Give them a call. Good Luck!

When I first booked it was$ 249.00 standard at HRH, I asked about AAA and she said the rates wouldn't be out till fall. Finally last week I got my AAA rate of $178. Definitely worth the hassle of calling weekly!

My rate for May 27 and May 28 is 319.20/night for club level. It may be that no discounts are available for Easter. Just go to the Universal website and enter AAA in the discount space. If there are anny discounts,they will show up on the rates page.

Great ideas..esp the website check weekly as that's an easy one

I wonder if it makes any difference whether you check the Universal website or Loews website for the AAA rate?

I checked both (& AAA website) and it was same rate for our trip!
