Trying to determine the best price.
I am purchasing an annual pass b/c we got a good discount on our room that way (more than made up for the price).

Also need a ticket for dh and our 2 kids.

Online, at the Universal Studios site, it says I "save 20 dollars" on a 2 day one park pass by buying in advance:
Adult: 115.99 each
Child: 105.99 each

Is this a better price than what I would get by buying them at the gate using my Annual Pass for a discount? I can't find the price for annual pass discount tickets.

TIA!!

Preferred and Premier AP holders receive a 10% discount off single day theme park tickets and 15% off multiple day tickets.

I purchased an AP for a discounted room at the HRH in two weeks. Was excited to hear about the the 15% discount on multi day passes, and called the AP number to order them.

I was told that the AP has to be activated at the gate at least once before you can use it for ticket discounts. So I would have had to go in with my AP, then turn around and come back out and purchase the tickets.

I would have done this, although grudgingly, because I like to have all my ducks in row BEFORE getting to Universal, but 15% is 15%. But then I realized it would be 15% off the gate price, not the online price, which makes the discount not that great for the aggravation.

I just went to Undercover Tourist and ordered, and with taxes and shipping included, I believe it was cheaper than using the AP discount once we got there.

Now I'm wondering the same thing as you for next time when my AP is activated. What is the price for AP holders AHEAD of time? Is the same price on the Universal site PLUS AN EXTRA 15%? Or do you pay the gate price on the phone with the15%?

TigerLilly'sMom - thanks for posting this info, I had been wondering whether it was cheaper to get tix from UT, or use the AP discount. Sounds like I'll be purchasing from UT in any case, as I won't have the AP ahead of time.

Thanks again!:goodvibes

If you are AAA members...check with your local office. Right now I can get 2 day park to park tickets for $136...no tax or additional fees....saves even a few dollars a ticket over Undercover Tourist prices.

I think it is a bit cheaper doing it the AP way but not enough to make up for the hassle of activating your pass first.

Thanks everyone! I'm buying online in advance just to be done.
We'll be there in 2 weeks. Can't wait!
