Price increases this year?

I did a search for this topic and didn't find any recent posts (after SW Land opened).

I am trying to figure out when to buy my tickets for a trip tentatively planned for next June, we are possibly moving it to May. I want to wait because we aren't sure who all is going yet. I don't want to wait because waiting has bitten me in the behind before with price increases. With all the stuff going on what are the chances they don't increase ticket prices soon? I know it's a question nobody can really answer but thought I'd get speculation.

I’d buy the tickets for who you know are going now. There is always a price increase every year, and by your trip the other Galaxy Edge attraction will be open.
But having said that, my speculation is - the price increases I think have bitten them in the butt, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t increase prices this year.
So hedge your bets and buy what you can now, and have the others buy theirs when they know if they’re going.

No they didn’t. Last day & multi-day ticket price increase at WDW was in March 2019. In June they increased Annual Pass prices only. In July they didn’t increase any ticket prices. Reference: http://allears.net/walt-disney-world/wdw-planning/wdw-ticket-increase-guide/
Sorry, I was assuming July without looking it up because it was while I was in my AP renewal period. (I let those expire 8/3).

I’m a pessimist- I put a second increase for DLR at 50/50. I already bought APs to activate next month.

Keep in mind that some of the discounters may continue to have a supply of tickets at the lower price for a couple of days after an increase. So, if Disney does increase prices unexpectedly before you have solidified your plans, I'd go straight to LMTClub (or whichever other) and get the tickets you're sure you need at the lower price if you still can.

That said, I agree with the others who've said another increase in 2019 is unlikely.

They increased prices at WDW recently (last month), so I don’t think they have learned anything yet.
Oddly enough, I was in line at DL about six weeks ago when someone I know who works in ticketing told me to renew sooner rather than later. My pass expired in mid July so I did it then and there via the app. It’s at $1200 renewal and I was slightly surprised that it was so easy/possible via the app.

But they may increase prices in January 2020. If you’re positive you’re going I would buy your ticket and anyone else that’s sure before January.
Given they did it in March this year, would you assume that they won't raise daily ticket prices again in 2019? Have they raised them twice in a single year before? I am waiting on accumulating a few more Disney Dollars on my Chase card to purchase the last 2 tickets. NOTE: This is for WDW, not DLR but this is the only current discussion I can find on ticket price increases.

If you’re only a few dollars shy I would go ahead and book and pay the remainder with cash. Better safe than sorry.

A few years ago they raised prices twice in the same year so they are not above that. But attendance is way down this year. If SWGE would have been a commercial success I'm sure they would have raise prices this year but I doubt they would at this point. They are in cost cutting panic mode now and are probably afraid to do any more damage this year. If things don't pick up real soon I'd expect a SoCal 3 day park hopper discount ticket might appear.

Can you buy tickets already for next June? We haven’t been there for a few years but in the past you couldn’t buy tickets for the next calendar year until much closer to the end of the year.

How do people know the attendance in the parks except in a general sense by wait times and ease of walking? Disney does not release the daily figures to my knowledge.

The current tickets you can buy are good through January 2021.

My bet is yes they will increase ticket prices in 2019. In recent years they’ve been increasing room rates twice a year. Unheard of before. Can’t go by historical data anymore. Now Disney does what they want when they want.

I believe they acknowledged lower than expected attendance on a shareholder call.
