I recently searched the threads and came up with a link in a post, I think posted by Doc, that had the price history and dates for DVC purchase. I can not find it again I think the search is not working. Anyone know where the info is? Doc if your out there do you recall?

Fall, 2007 -- Ko'Olina, Hawaii DVC resort announced (opening in 2011)
September, 2007 - DVC extends OKW land lease until January 31, 2057. Existing members have the option to purchase the extension at $15 per point thru February 29, 2008.
May, 2009 -- AKV - Kidani Village - opening.
September 16, 2008 -- BLT announced. Sales begin on 9/21 to existing members at $112 per point plus a $5 incentive. Sales for new members begins on October 5, 2008. To open on September 1, 2009.
September 16, 2008 -- THV announced as an addition to SSR. To open in Spring, 2009.
January 15, 2009 -- Price increase to $112 for AKV purchase.
Spring, 2009 -- GCV sales begin at $112 per point.
August, 2009 -- BLT opens.
November, 2009 -- GCV opens.
Fall, 2009 -- Price increase to $120 for BLT and GCV purchases. Other incentives available.
Summer, 2010 -- Aulani Hawaii (AHV) sales begin at $120. Incentives are available. Resort to open in Fall, 2011.

Holy moly! Doing some quick calculations I show that the price per point increased by just over 27% in the first 8 years and then it increased 60% in the next 6.5 years! More than doubling the initial price of $51 overall.

Yikes!

Following the past trend, do you think we can expect the price to be $166 a point in another 6.5 years? Stop the insanity!!

Thanks! Could we nominate this thread, with specific link to post #3, to be added to CarolAnnC's list of "Ongoing DVC Discussion Topics"? Or perhaps another centralized list of reference helps?

The DVC mods are working on a DVC Resource Center which would include information like this as well as lots of other frequenty asked/answered info.

There is no timetable yet for getting this accomplished, but it is in the works.

I have a great number of DVC informational threads bookmarked - as do many others - so compiling the resources won't be too big of a task. There is a lot of static content we'd also like to have available (resort addresses, phone numbers, DVC services, etc.).

We bought at BCV in April 2002 (before it was open) and the cost for us was $70 (that was $75 minus a $5 discount). The min required purchase was 150 at that time which is what we bought.

I wouldn't able to buy at the current prices so I am glad we bought when we did.

we're waiting on ROFR and were curious of how much it would have cost us if we bought in earlier. We did purchase at SSR in March 2004 and it was only $74 with the discount.. so that is different from what is listed below.
