What can I expect to pay for a resale at BV? In relation to the full price through Disney that is.

That is a difficult one to answer as it depends on market conditions at the time. Asking prices (which have recently ranged from $62 to $68 a point) are negotiable but in the last few months demand has outstripped supply and people have reported that sellers are getting sales close to or equal to asking price. If you had been in the market only a year ago, there were prices in the $55 or less range. Note, when doing a comparison to what you can get through Disney, that the buyer typically pays closing costs in a resale (about $500) and Disney's price includes those costs. Also, financing for a resale, unless you can do a home equity loan on your existing home, is usually at a rate that is a few points higher than Disney offer

Things seem to be pretty tight in the resale market. The best thing for you to do is th call The TimeShare Store at the number in the banner at the top of this page. There is also another very often reccomended company that I am sure someone will give the number for soon.

Even though things seem to be tight, you will still pay somewhat less for the points. There is absolutely no difference at all in points bought resale or from Disney.

Recently, we have heard from $60-68 for a resale at BWV. If you add closing and dues, straight from Disney may even be cheaper, probably not, but you need to negotiate, everything is negotiable. You could even end up with a bunch more points upfront, often a resale will come with banked points. Sometimes they come with no current points and next years already borrowed, if that is the case, you negotiate a lower selling price.

We bought a BWV resale through Jaki at A Timeshare
Broker in Feb. We paid $62/pt plus closing which came to $64.15/point, 200 points, Dec use year, and all points available from 2000 and 2001. We saved $1569.24 off the Disney price, not to mention that BW was not available through them. email me if you have any other questions. :)

KEM330,
If you paid $64.15 a point and did not recieve your Dec 2000 points then you paid more than new from Disney. If you had purchased new from Disney in Feb 2001, you would have recieved your full allotment of December 2000 points. Now if you consider that these points are worth a minimum of $10 each (and we all know that is cheap) and you add the $10 each for the misssing points then you paid about $74.15 each which is more than Disney.
Or did I miss something?

I guess the resale price is going up!

nuthut- I'm just a bad typist! It did include year 2000 points.(I made the correction)I wouldn't be THAT crazy to pay $74.15! Thanks for pointing it out.

Sure am glad you didn't pay to much, KEM330. Oh well, these resales seem to be in short supply anyway.

kem330-you said in your posting to e-mail you with questions. I went to your profile and your e-mail wasn't listed. I am now talking to Jaki and would like to know how your experience was. You can go to my profile and e-mail me, then I will reply. Thanks.

Everyone keeps saying you can buy cheaper directly from Disney... Only one small problem. You can't buy BWV from Disney. This might be the reason for the short supply and dare I say it... In the imortal words of CALBAYBWV... The "skyrocketing" price of BWV resale.
