I just noticed that our cruise dropped in price for same category after the paid in full date- will they adjust the price?

I think it depends on if it is a restricted rate type of thing. Is it marked as an IGT, OGT or VGT on the website?
Those are category restricted rates and would guarantee a cabin in that category, but you would not know which one. Also, you would have to rebook totally to get that price.

If it is a FL resident rate and you are a FL resident, they will adjust the price upon proof of your residency.

To my knowledge, no. After the PIF date is when they create sales to fill the ship. Is the rate you are seeing for a VGT, OGT or IGT?

No it's not an IGT rate just a regular GTY which is what I currently have but I haven't been assigned a room yet. So no restricted rates on the one I have or the one I'm seeing. It dropped $600 from when I booked it 2 weeks ago.

I would not wait for DCL to volunteer this information. Call them in the morning and see what they say.
Sure would be a nice surprise to receive a refund. Good Luck.:shamrock:

Then call them up right now and get that price adjusted. :) Let us know how it went.

There have been a couple of threads on these boards about this. I have never known Disney to adjust the price after PIF. They will probably tell you that you can ask at the port for an upgrade, but it most likely won't be free.

Of all the cruise lines I have sailed on, they are the only ones that won't accommodate any adjustment to price after you have paid.

I used to be at TA and I'm 99% sure after full payment they will tell you that you'd have to cancel and rebook. Of course at this point you are in penalty for your deposit amount.....

I know RCCL won't accommodate any adjustment after PIF date, and I'd be surprised if others would as well. That is the point of the PIF date and cancellation penalties. What RCCL will do, however, is let you upgrade cabins using the new rates. So, let's say you are booked in an outside, and the balcony rate drops after PIF, you can upgrade to the balcony at the prevailing rate.

Yes, I should have worded that better. We have never gotten price adjustments, but have gotten free upgrades and other amenities (free specialty dining or drink packages or a free excursion, etc.) after PIF on HAL, Princess and Carnival. Princess upgraded us from a standard balcony to a suite after PIF because they had a huge price drop and we couldn't participate. HAL and Carnival upgraded us for free -- they also ordered upgrades on other cruises for a price as an offer. Disney, as far as I know, doesn't offer anything if you are PIF and prices have dropped on your category.

DCL refunded me for a price drop after PIF date. Granted, this was in 2013 so I don't know if they would still do it but they did for me at that time. This was when the Galveston cruises were barely selling, and our 1 bedroom suite dropped in price about 30 days before sailing. This was just a plain old price drop, not a special of any sort. They didn't notify me, and I don't think they would have. I noticed it on cruisefish. My TA called and they refunded my credit card the same day. It was about $900 in savings.

Typically they do not adjust for prices past the paid in full date unless it is more then the deposit amount. They readjusted the refund information so it depends how far past the PIF you are. The closer you get to the cruise the higher the amount of money you lose so if it is less then that you may get a tiny bit back but if it is more you'll end up paying because you have to cancel and rebook.

On our September 24th Fantasy cruise, there was a FL Resident rate that they gave refunds for IF you were willing to take a Verandah cabin on Deck 7. It was somewhat restricted in that you could not choose the cabin, just that you would be in a verandah on Deck 7.
Some folks opted in for this because they were getting a pretty good refund. They did not have to rebook or cancel, just transfer to another cabin per the rate. We did not as we specifically chose our cabin on Deck 10 and did not want to move .It was offered just one day after the PIF date and of course cabins were limited to first come, first serve.

Again, that was a FL Resident rate and proof of FL residency was required within a 48 hour time frame.

Yes, FL Resident rates are the only discounts that don't require a new booking. Nice perk!
