Pretzel in Germany - can you get cheese with it?

I keep seeing this amazing pictures of this pretzel but I have never seen one with cheese sauce. Can you get the cheese sauce with it?

I get pretzels there often for my boys and I've never seen cheese available.

Maybe if you asked for it they have it?

They try to be very authentic. I don't think cheese is a pretzel condiment in Germany.

We ate a few of those during our Feb trip....nope, no cheese sauce!

Oh man! I cannot have a pretzel without cheese and those pretzels look AMAZING. I might just have to try and eat one without the cheese. Bummer.
