We were planning a trip to WDW, but the only time that may work for us in 2004 is July. Well, I simply cannot take the heat! I just can't enjoy myself when I'm too hot. So, I thought perhaps DL would be an option, but am I setting myself up for dissapointment? Will July in DL be as bad as July in WDW?

My second issue is with the crowds. Is DL manageable in July??

I TRULY appreciate any help!:)

July can be H O T but not as humid as WDW will be so, if it is one or the other DL will be the more managable of the two.

Crowds will also be high. Many day camps will have day trips to DL/DCA so expect to see lots of school age kids between 10 - 4. Best suggest is to get there at opening (about 8), take a break at lunch time (12 - 1) and return around dinner time (6pm) and stay until close (about 11pm).

I've been in July quite a few times and it's just the luck of the dice with crowds. We were there for an adults only trip this past July 16-19 and the crowds surprisngly were not that bad. In fact, on the 17th(Disneyland's birthday)we got a TON of rides done! The weather was actually surprisingly humid when we were there, that's not the norm though(but it was helpful to prepare me for the humidity when I went to wDW two weeks later! LOL)

Expect it to be hot, bring your own water, lots of it and keep hydrated and do the bulk of your park time in early morning and evening. Take a break during the day(as disneychrista suggested)to go relax or nap in your room, swim or catch a movie at DTD. Then go back to the parks at dinner time and stay til closing.

As compared to WDW, I went to WDW Aug 1-9 and it was miserable weather wise, if it was HOT & HUMID it was raining. Also, the crowds were much bigger at WDW and the fast passes ran out alot quicker. The only fast pass I saw run out at DL in July was Splash Mountain, but this is easily solved if you get a fast pass for it or ride it in the morning.

HTH and have fun!

We were there in July also. It was hot and humid and very crowded. Once in a while you will feel a cool brease. The lines where really bad from 1-3hrs. We used fast pass for the majority of the rides.
