Pretty much no chance of getting a cabana, right?

Hey all,

I was able to book activities today for my 11/12 cruise, and of course all of the cabanas are gone. I'm only silver, so I probably never had a chance.

Traveling with my parents and kids, so a cabana would be so nice.

Anyone have any advice? Has anyone ever had any luck when getting on the waitlist? What is the waitlist procedure?

Thanks for any help.

Chris

I have heard of people posting a message within their cruise group and have gotten one when someone canceled theirs.

We are silver and I have checked every day since our 90 booking and we leave this Saturday and did not get one .

Hi Michelle,
Thanks for your response. I bet you are so excited to be leaving so soon!! I hope you have a wonderful cruise!

Agree with all the above advice about getting on the waitlist as soon as you board. I would add, be sure to stop by the Guest Servce desk the night before and the morning of your Castaway day. Sometimes people cancel once onboard (overtired, hung over, kid sick, changed mind about cost, worried about weather forecast, etc.) then Guest Services starts calling the Staterooms of people on the waitlist. If no one is in the stateroom to answer their call, they keep going down the list until then get ahold of someone. If it’s the morning of the Castaway Cay day, guests may be having breakfast and not be in the stateroom.

Someone on our last cruise was a few names down on the waitlist and didn’t expect to get a cabana, but they had taken one of their girls back to their room in the middle of breakfast to change out of their orange juice and syrup covered romper when the call came about an open cabana. The crew member laughed at her excitement and said he was just glad someone was in their stateroom to take their call.

^^^ the two tips above worked for me as a silver, gold and platinum member when they were unavailable on the port activities page.

Good Luck

I have previously checked daily to see if one pops up from someone cancelling driving myself nuts doing so and looking forward to Castaway less as a result.

The last three cruises we've done involving a Castaway visit I swore off checking daily so as not to enjoy less Castaway and would randomly check here and there from our PIF and the cut-off date for booking adventures and magically twice we stumbled upon a cabana being available that I quickly booked. Chances are slim but checking randomly can pay off and as PP mentioned putting your name on the wait-list at CS as soon as boarding covers potentially getting from a late cancellation (given nobody in Concierge is on the wait-list as well).

I second, third and fourth the notion of putting your name on the list at Guest Services when you board. We've been blessed with being able to get a cabana, but only on one trip and that's because it was our wedding trip and we were allowed to book cabanas when platinum booked -- and there was only ONE cabin left at that point.

We will put our name on the waitlist this weekend and I will let you know how it goes - fingers crossed!!!

I would keep checking the website regularly. I grabbed a cabana when I first booked my upcoming Fantasy sailing & I booked just about a week under when Platinums and concierge could book as I recall, so I was surprised there were any left at all. There was just the huge family cabana (can't think of the name, too lazy to look it up right now, LOL!) and #20. I grabbed #20 and kept it for a couple of weeks before deciding to "throw it back".

Some cabana booking folks here say it is good to start checking very often the week before your cruise as I think one must cancel cabanas and shore excursions no later than 3 days prior? Good luck to you!! :cutie:

We are cruising in about two weeks, and this will be our 8th Disney cruise. We have never been able to get a cabana till this time. I did the online check in and there were several left over. I have put our name on wait lists on board and never had it come through. Even with the low odds, I still did it every time. Good luck!

This is crazy!! Why wouldn’t they just message people on the app?!?

Man, makes me not even want to pay early just so I can NOT get a Cabana.

Good Luck OP
