Pressed-pot Kenyan Coffee

Boma's offers a pressed-pot of Kenyan Coffee at an "extra expense." Can anyone tell me how much? We'll be eating a late breakfast there in October and I just want a ballpark idea of the cost (I'm assuming since its extra that the DDP doesn't cover it). Of course, considering it will be 10:30 when we sit down, and after a few hours of AK...coffee may be the furthest things from our minds. But, my mom is going on this trip and we are both big coffee drinkers so I thought it might be a special treat.

I too am curious about this. I'm staying at the AKL in December and plan on eating at Boma for dinner and breakfast once each. I LOVE coffee and fairly bold/strong but smooth coffee at that. I'm hoping someone knows the answer to your question.

I'd also be curious if anyone knows if Mara offers a decent cup in the morning-it would be kind of ironic if an African themed lodge didn't serve Kenyan coffee in all its eating establishments-don't you think?

(I've heard it said that most of WDW is Nescafe -Gotta have a great cup of java in the morning!

And yes...Nescafe.....BLEH!!! Which is why I always bring my own coffee pot. I don't function without REAL coffee.

Sorry Freq-Saturday morning-hadn't had a full cup of java yet-do you really bring your own coffee maker-press or drip? (Coffee too, I'd imagine?)

Btw, Isn't it a little bizarre that Disney hasn't caught on to the whole coffee thing at this point? There are little coffee shops and roasters and of course Starbucks all over the country now...what do you think is up with that?

I had this last Jan. It comes in a craft, I'm thinking it was around 9 to 10 dollors. You should be able to share. It was really strong, but I did enjoy it. I say try it. Tina

I didn't have it, but I think it was around $5. Cappuccino and espresso are included in the dining plan, at least it was when I was there in January.

I bring my full size coffee maker (drip) and set it up on the vanity (and at a value resort you know how valuble space is!) I have a set of steel canisters with the jelly jar lids (air tight). I just bring coffee grounds in one of those and throw a couple of filters on top. I packed a ziplock with sweet n' low and a half gallon of skim milk (the kids used it with their cereal in the morning anyhow) I also brought two mugs with lids so we could take our coffee to go. We were on the DP last trip so I couldn't see the value in the refillible mug. This trip, we won't be on DP but I can't stand the thought of nescafe.

I considered picking up one of those cheap four cup travel coffee makers for the trip but in the end we had plenty of room to pack the one from home so I didn't bother. Honestly, I wouldn't mind owning one....must keep on the lookout.

I can't stand the thought of Nescafe, either. Usually I bring a coffee Melitta coffee maker that comes with 2 travel mugs, but this trip will just be me and my 6yo and I am really trying to minimize my luggage, so don't know if I'm going to bring it. I hate the thought of the Nescafe, but might deal with it for a week.

In which case I'll buy my refillable mug and force myself to drink it every morning.

We have had the pressed-pot many times. I think it is in the $7 range. It is right up there with the Kona pressed-pot coffee. Excellent! We have a large family and will have 3-4 of these brought out with dessert or with breakfast. What a treat!

I think this is what we paid. It was good, but my family liked the Kona pressed pot better.
