Just curious if they have pressed penny machines on the DCL ships? If they do what are they what is in them and are there any at the check in building?

I know they have pressed quarters because we have some. I thought I remembered some pennies but I don't remember getting any of them.
There were quarters located outside the Disney Theater. The two we got was the basic cruise line logo (3 swishes and Mickey icon) and Captain Mickey. They had more, but I don't recall the design.

frakers ~ How long ago did you get the pressed quarters? I know they used to have the machines a few years ago, but they got rid of them. If you got them recently my DS will be so happy. He missed out on getting them on our first cruise.

Any recent cruisers seem the penny press machines? - Mike

I hope they have some quarter or peny machines my daughters love collecting them.

This same topic was discussed just few weeks ago and the consensus was that they no longer have pressed coin machines on the Magic or Wonder.

We just sailed on the Magic in Feb and they did not have any.

Now why would they get rid of those? I always thought they were popular. I guess that means we have a collector's item. Do I have any starting bids?

They ARE Popular especially with the kids beggin for a cheap souvenir!

I heard they took them out because of the "moneyless" atmosphere of the DCL... the whole idea of the key to the world card is not having to carry cash... so therefore, they thought (or assumed) people wouldn't have quarters and pennies with them either!

It is a true BUMMER!:(

We just got off the Wonder on 4/29 & I am sorry to report there are NO pressed penny machines!! We wanted to do it but found none!!!

was on the magic at 3/27. those machines were no where to be found. they did have a nice collection for the silent auction. 5 pennies (i think) starting at $100. my DH seriously wanted to bid on it, but i can't see spending $100+ on 5cents. it was in a nice case frame thing...kinda like shadow box (?) now if you are serious collector, i guess. us, we just like to get them...our DSs love cranking the machines! so we didn't bid on it. if my DH had his way, i'm sure that nice collection would be at our house...:wave2:

No pressed penny or quarter machines are in the terminal either. You think that they would at least have them at the terminal because people do have money in their pockets and lots of people like to collect them

I asked a CM at the terminal about it and she said no they did not have them.

We do have a pressed quarter from the Wonder it has the date of 1999 on it. We got in on our cruise in early January of 2000.
