Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly are they?

You pay $ .51 for this and it presses your penny to have a picture in it. Thay sell a book if you want to have someplace to but them. The kids love it.

The Kids? I've been bringing my parents twice a year now for 4 years. My father loves them. You put 2 quarters in and a penny. Then you turn the handle and whatever picture you have chosen is pressed onto the penny. It's neat. You usually use your newest penny. You can see the other stuff that was on the penny stretched out.

Are the books that you put the pressed pennies in sold at the resorts or DTD or the parks? We have done these from other places and I have glued a little magnet on the back so I could put them on the fridge, but the kids would really like a book.

You can get the books at several Disney stores, including resort stores (not sure about DTD, I wasn't looking for them there). Ours holds 36 pennies and 6 quarters. We will need another one (or two) for our next trip.

This really kept my DH busy in the park. Before you go get an M & Ms minis tube and fill it with layers of two quarters and a shiny penny. When others are looking in their wallets for the correct change you can crack open your tube and take out what you need. The machines usually have several designs and you can choose which one you want on your penny.
