Pressed pennies....

I am thinking about starting the girls on collecting pennies this trip.....

How much are they?

Where can I buy the books to hold them?

Do you set limits on how many they can get each day... or if it is a new machine, they can get it. If the latter... does it disrupt your day?

Haven't done the pennies in a while, but I think most stores in WDW sell the holders. As far as cost....it is 50 cents plus the penny.

Depending on the ages of your kids it might be good idea to set a limit. I believe most machines have three choices, so might say only one penny per machine?

You can stop at guest services at anyone of the parks and pick up a list of pressed penny locations and what's on them.

Besides the pressed pennies, you can get pressed Quarters in some locations. The fee is $1.00 plus the quarter being pressed.

We also do pressed pennies, the mini m&m containers holds the quarters and pennies nicely.

I used to print out the pages for the pressed machines locations and go hunting for them. It was kinda fun. Now I am collecting Disney pins and gave up on the pressed coins a little. I ended up with so many I bought 3 ring binders and 2x2 cardboard holders for them.

Although I haven't been collecting them as much on our last few trips, I will have some nice coins to pass on to the kids one day.

The pressed penny albums are sold most anywhere. Try the shop in your Disney resort or villa location. I think the price was around 5 or 6 dollars.

My kids love this, too. When we travel with adults for their first WDW trip they love the pennies as well. It's alot of fun. Mostly my family just looks for machines everywhere we go and don't use the map.

We bought a book or 2 a few trips ago but they don't hold very many. But they were neat and do hold quarters and pennies.

If you go to Chef Mickey's or stay at the Contemporary, there is a line of machines right by the elevators. There are maybe 6 or 7 of them right there.
