Pressed Pennies

My husband's younger cousins (11 & 14) recently introduced my kids to pressed pennies and showed my kids all the ones they got in WDW. Does anyone have an estimate of how many there are in the parks? We are obviously not going to let them get everyone they see, but just wanted to know about how many to look out for. Also does anyone have a favorite and where is it if you can remember. Thanks.

We used an idea from this board and put their pennies in one of those mini M&M tubes. Last time I used a baggie, but I think this will work better! Going in July!

This is just a little tip for you. Bring a couple of rolls of quarters and pennies with you. The mini M&M tubes hold them quite nicely. You can alternate two quarters then one penney in the tube. That way when you come upon a machine your all set. I hope your kids have fun collecting them. Mine love it.

Many of the gift shops sell little books that you can display your pressed penny collection in.

like the M&M tubes, we use empty film canisters for the coins (I know, who uses film, anymore?) My kids treasure their collections

honestly, I still use film. My husband thinks it is dumb and always threatens to throw away my camera. He always uses the DC.

currently there are 494 pressed coins around the WDW, including pennies and quarters

Many of the pressed penny machines at Disney are in the gift shops. It was a good way to get the kids out of the shops. Press a penny and then leave.

There is a machine near Splash Mnt and one at Downtown Disney that are hand cranked which are kind of fun.
