Press Event scheduled for Jan 24-26, 2007

Looks like Disney has scheduled a Press Event January 24-26, 2007.

Scheduled to announce the official openings of:
Magic Kingdom - Monsters, Inc. - The Laugh Floor Comedy Club
Epcot - The Seas with Nemo and Friends
Animal Kingdom - Finding Nemo – The Musical

With these three events happening so close...do you think the crowds will increase much?

Never been to the World when they had official Press Events going on.

No, previous press events have never had any impact on crowds. Late January is usually not very crowded anyway.

The last two major events were the first week of April 2006 (EE opening) and May 2005 (kickoff of HCOE). Crowds were quite manageable for both. Disney will usually schedule the press events at slower times.

One of the parks may close early on the Wednesday and/or Thursday night (24th or 25th) for a "media only" event.

I think I saw that MK will close at 6:30 on the 25th. That's probably for this event.

Thanks for the info...I know we won't be @ Magic Kingdom on January 25th, so we should be all set.

We are looking forward to checking out all these new attractions though

What is the Monsters Inc attraction/show I have not heard about this yet and where will it be? Or is that what is going in to the Time Keeper? Sorry I have been doing wedding stuff and while I have read this board my head has not been here-

It will be in the area where Time Keeper used to be. It supposed to use similiar technology to Turtle Talk with Crush, but be a kind of stand up comedy show with Mike from Monsters, Inc.

We are all over looking one more important event that is to begin on January 25th. The giving away of a night's stay in Cinderella's Suite.......

This makes total sense for the park to close early that night....as well as hold a press event.

Now I am even more excited since I will be there that week. Anyone know how to get info on the press event. I have the ability to obtain press credentials.......

We were there for the press opening of mission space. We got a paper and a nice packet under our door that morning. Crowds were the same though.

I so totally forgot about the night @ Cinderella's Castle...that makes total sense that the park closes early then.

As far as obtaining info for press credentials....I would assume their Media department would have some idea.

Does anybody know where to find a listing of all the events going on? I am going during the week of Jan 21st and have found that there are couple events going on (this press thing, Lotusphere, etc.). I don't think anything is going to majorly affect crowds, but it would be nice to know what I am getting myself into!

I would like to know also if there is a list of events for the 24th thru the 30th
That is when we will be there and it would be great to check out some extra stuff!!

We'll also be there... 24th-30th. I just booked last week and had no problem getting an AP discounted rate at POFQ (which I've never been able to book before w/AP discount, always sold out), cheap airfare through Southwest ($49 each way, without a DING!), and all the ADRs I wanted. Sounds to me like it's not going to be overly crowded.

Other then the press event, Laugh Floor and Nemo Musical officially opening, Pirate/Princess parties, Lotusphere, Cinderella Suite beginning to be given away, and Me having the DREAM trip I always wanted. No nothing special going on......

The weekend before will be the DVC previews for Laugh Floor (Jan 19-21). Yeah!

Sounds like a great time to be in the Happiest Place on Earth........

Looks like things are getting better and better with my trip schedule!!

RNRC is closed until Jan 22nd - my MGM day
Laugh Factory opens the 23rd - my first MK day

Can't ask for better timing!!

They haven't had their official grand opening yet

Have not received any info on that yet (ie email newsletter, etc). I am also an AP holder so when and if it is announced will make sure to advise.
