Haven't been to Universal in 5 years, so I am unsure of how to go about doing things or how crowded it may be. Especially, for President's Day week (we will be at Universal on Wednesday). The questions I ask is:

1. How crowded will Rip Ride Rock it be within the first hour of park opening?
2. What will the crowds be like?

Thanks!

You don't even know if Rip Ride will be open in the first hour, they open it at different times depending on how well it's running. If you are there when the park opens the TM at the gate may know if it will open right away. Some people queue up anyway so they can be there when it finally does open, they could wait 60-90 minutes just to be one of the first in. In my opinion that's a waste of time since you could hit every other ride before it starts getting crowded then go back to that one later in the day. Try the singles line if it's open and, as a last resort, get in line just before the park closes. They will keep it running until everyone has had a ride.

We're in a recession so I don't expect it to be as crowded as a normal holiday period. Still, the wisest course no matter when you go is to be there when the gates open and get the major stuff out of the way. Then crowds won't matter.
