Hi to all, what week do your children have off in February? Our school is closed 2/16 to 2/24, just wondering how the crowds will be.

Thanks

Anne

The crowds will be bad. My kids are out the 19-23 that's why I'm taking them out the week before.

Presidents Week is always very crowded at Disney. This year you can add Mardi Gras into the mix. It falls the same week this year so lots of people from Louisiana head to WDW as well.

NH is off the next week (I beleive VT is off that week as well). Maine is off President's Day week. You'll find WDW is crowded from mid February through the end of April as almost all of the schools have their break somewhere during that time.

:sad1:

No break here...the only day that we get off in ALL of Feb. is Monday, Presidents' Day.
(And this is a large public school system in Maryland).

Here in Massachusetts we are also off those dates. We are heading down on the 13th. Kids will miss 3 days of school. We plan on doing MK on Friday the 15th before most of the rush arrives.

We have been going this time for the last 3 years. It does get crowded, but manageable.

If you are staying onsite, take advantage of early entry. If you are staying offsite, go to the early entry park the next day. This really helps with crowds. Also..try to be there when the park opens since a lot of people wait until 11 or so to arrive.
If you can afford it, make a few ADR's for dining. This is not only relaxing, but avoids having to wait in yet another line. It even helps if you dine at an odd hour. For instance...book breakfast at like 11am or dinner at like 4:30. That way the restaurants aren't too crowded either.
Oh yeah...and get a fast pass for a ride right before you go to eat. That way you can just hop on a ride after you eat. I love the instant gratification that provides.

It is a crowded week, but there are lots of ways to help skirt the crowds.

Have a great trip!
Heather

Ok i'm right there with you on that one!!! We leave 2/23 though, hopefully no breaks durring that time!

Some of the Michigan schools have President's Week off. Last year we went to DW that week, but didn't arrive until Wed and the crowds weren't bad until Saturday, when they picked up. We are planning to do the same this year, hopefully it won't be too bad. Good luck.

I think that President's Week is an east coast thing. My kids only get Feb 19th off. I work for the state and I get the 12th (Lincoln's b-day, he's a god in Illinois) and the 19th for President's Day.

Because I work for the state the kids and I usually have the same days off. Not the 12th!!!!! That's MY DAY. Can't wait.

Sorry for the hijack, I just soo excited sometimes.

Hey Becky, I'll be there 2/23-26 for a quick weekend trip & I'm hoping it's not too crowded! But if it is, it's still Disney & we'll deal with it happily! :) It's time away from work & cold weather. :woohoo:

Here in Northern NJ we are off Febraury 15-20. We are doing a disney cruise 2/10-2/17, instead of WDW this February.

not unusual, but President's Day Weekend is SOLD OUT on Disney property. I just called and tried to get a room for a client. NO ROOMS available. Crowds are likely to be heavy especailly that Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Still, like any other busy time at Disney, if you have a plan the crowds shouldn't bother you too much. By the way, I personally think that plan should include early mornings -- be at the parks at opening before the crowds can get there.:)
