President's Day Week

Good morning. We are going to DL in February. My husband, kids, and I have been a million time BUT we are traveling with a family that has NEVER been, so they are looking to us with allot of questions and we want to ensure they have a good time.

Our school is out of session the WHOLE week before Presidents Day; so we were thinking of visiting the park February 13th, 14th, 15th (Mon-Wed before the holiday). I keep hearing how crowded Presidents Day can be thou and I noticed the hotels are a little bit higher ($5 to $20 per night), so am considering moving the dates up one week. Is it all the week of Presidents Day that is crowded or just the long weekend? Does the Valentine’s Day holiday affect things at all. I know you don't have a crystal ball but I keep seeing crowd predications so thought I would get some opinions. I don't want their first time to we spent in hour long lines and my 5 year old has ZERO patience.

So thoughts; February 6th, 7th, 8th or 13th, 14th, 15th if I don’t want to scare them with lines. I think we have the hotel figured out (Dessert Inn) and we are getting the tickets through the military travel; last big decision. OH and different subject; but any opinions between Pirates Dinner Adventure and Medieval Times?

In 2009,I visited the week before President's day and it was very quiet until the Friday before the long weekend. In 2010, I visited the week of President's Day. It was very busy on the Monday but pretty manageable throughout the week although not as quiet as our 2009 visit.
