Are the schools in Florida primarily closed that day? If so, should I expect it to be crowded at IOA? Crowded to the extent that I should purchase EPs and, if so, where do I find the price listing for that day...I understand that it changes based on anticpated crowd levels? Thanks!

Orange County has off.

I'd probably hold off on the Express Passes until you get to the park. However, you should be able to check the prices on the Universal Orlando website. :)

We live outside Jacksonville and schools are out that day. I know the Disney parks are usually pretty crowded that weekend (like 9 out of 10), but not sure about Universal/IOA.

Thanks! Lots of schools in the midwest where we are from and the east coast have mid winter break that whole week. Are your schools out the whole week or just for that day?

The law here in Michigan is that kids don't start school until after Labor Day so we don't have a fall break and it seems we get out much later than the southern schools (mid June). I was hoping this would be a much better time to go than easter/spring break, but now I'm thinking it still may be far more crowded than off-season which we were able to do in the past because DS had not yet started school.

ETA: I'll go with my smiley face on regardless, but I'm just trying to get a feel for how serious a touring plan I need to have for both WDW and US.

I know that our county only has off that Monday. All the school districts my kids have attended or I'm familiar with (all in the South) never have off the whole week. According to the crowd calendars, the whole week is projected to be pretty busy. :( On the bright side, the weather will probably be really nice!

President's Day week is one of the busiest of the year in Orlando. Express Passes will be expensive. Have you considered staying on site? Depending on how many in your family it may be cheaper.
