So, I made this thread a while back but thought since all the debates and etc have been going on, that I'd make a new one.

So, are you democrat, republican, or something else?

Have you found anyone you support yet?

Have you noticed any candidates you completely disagree with?

Discuss.

if i was an adult i would not even vote at all. first off America is not ready for a woman president. second, none of the canidates that i know of support the war. i know there are some people on here who support the war and some people who dont. i support the war 100%

I also support it. I hate when people are against it. I mean while they are standing on the corner holding up anti-war signs. The soldiers and in Iraq fighting for their rights to stand there!!

But I'm, well Im not going to say me because I'm not 18 yet, so no one cares. But my parents are republican and my dad really likes Fred Thompson! I know nothing about the campiagn though! I also dont think we are ready for a female president.

People who don't support the war, usually support the soldiers.

I do not support the war, but I support the soldiers. :)

Anyway, I like Clinton. I know I know, a lot of people don't like her, BUT one of the first things she plans on doing as president is to call the joint chiefs and create a plan to end the war. Now if she'll actually do it...I don't know. She also wants to give more power to the little people, hurrah. Plus, I'm in love with her health care plan. And I think America is ready for her, not just because she's a woman, but because of what she plans to do.

ETA: But I'm not stupid, I know candidates say things they might not really mean. And frankly, none of these people running for president are awe-inspiring, none jump out at me. IMO, none are EXACTLY what America needs right now, the person who I support will be the one who meets most of the things I'm looking for.

My least least very least favorite candidate is Mike Huckabee. He doesn't support gay-marriage, is completely pro-life, and is a very Conservative Christian. Plus, he said himself that he doesn't seperate is religious side from his professional side. Religion is "part of him" and he's going to try and put it in our daily lives, whether we want it there or not. AND, he supports abstinence only sex ed. All of which I disagree with. He was my governor for years, he lies, and I'll never ever support him if he happened to be elected. I might even move to Canada. :)

I'm a democrat, btw. (:

My opinion might not matter much as I can't actually vote yet, but hey, I can convince my parents to agree with me! (They already do.)

I'm unaffiliated and have yet to finish doing enough research on the candidates to make a final decision, but I'm leaning towards Edwards or Dodd.

I fully support our soldiers. Though, in past months, I have started to pull back my support for the war. We need to get out. We cannot leave abruptly though, we need to set a timetable, a 12 month timetable, now! I would , if i could vote, vote Republican. The only exception to this is that if Rudy Guliani won the primary, I would vote Democrat if someone like Brownback won the Dem ticket, which looks very unlikely. If NYC Mayor Bloomberg ran Ind. i would vote for him, but i he does that would spell trouble for the GOP because a lot of the GOP backs him, therefore splitting the GOP to Half independent, and then the DEM(look likes horrible hillary) would win.

i really don't like clinton.

i'll take anyone but clinton (or another freaking bush. ;))

That's really sad and kind of how our country got into the state it is in already, but people "not voting." Sometimes life isn't fair and you just have to choose the lesser of the evils. And it also sounds like you and the person below you don't know the difference between supporting the war and supporting the soilders. Can you give me a solid reason as to why we're still in Iraq in the first place?
I can't think of a decent one, therefor I do not support it but I sure as hell support the people over there risking their lives. That being said you can't vote anyway so it doesn't matter.

I'm a registered democract and I'm actually not going to be able to vote in the primaries because I won't be in the state I am registered in to do so and I'm not sure if they do absentee for primaries. So it depends on who wins the primary to decide who I'll vote for, However, I went to an Obama rally and I really enjoyed what he had to say and I feel he is a much better choice than Clinton would be.

I don't know if I'm a democrat or republican or other yet. I'm kind of a mix of all of them right now.

But I want Obama, or Giuliani.
Clinton just seems insincere to me. And like a mean person. The second one, yeah, that has nothing to do with her political views, but honestly, who wants a mean person running the country?

I will be turning 18 in a couple of days, so come time of the election, I will vote for Obama.
I completely disagree with Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Mike Huckabee, and Fred Thompson.
Clinton is ok.
And Guiliani (even if he is a Republican). I thought he handled 9/11 very well being the governor of New York at the time.

I am not old enough to vote but I have more connections than most people.
I have meet (had dinner) with the majority of the presidential candidates.
Some I like others...not so much. My parents are republicans and I guess I am. I really like Giuliani. Clinton is ok, but I think she is too head on for America.

Where'd you have dinner with them?

I have met Hillary and I thought she was a really nice person, but I think her ideas are a bit off from what I think the country needs. Barack is the closest to those and if I could vote, he'd be my choice.

I can't stand Mitt Romney, though. I have no problem with his religion, it's the fact that he's pro-drilling in the ANWR. I dislike the views of all the Republican candidates, but Romney just ticks me off the most...and after him it's probably Huckabee.

that stance is enough to make me lose respect for anyone. oil is not worth the chances youre taking with drilling in anwr. ONE accident, thousands of animals on a RESERVE could die.

no, just. no.

I am not a teen, but came across this thread . The thread about the war caught my eye and then I noticed this one. I was happy to see that there are some young people that are interested in what is happening in the world.

Babypiglet, I also like Clinton. There was a time that I would of said no way would I ever vote for her. I have had the chance to meet her several times since last year. I also was able to talk with her on a conference call earlier this summer. I have done a complete 360 on my feelings about her. I have a twelve year old who spent a lot of this past year meeting the candidates. He wanted to meet them so that he could decide who he was going to "vote "for. Then I reminded him that he was to young to vote. After meeting all of the candidates that are on the Dem side he decided on Hillary. He has helped out with the campaign a few times. He also really like Joe Biden!

:goodvibes: Although I do love talking about why people like other candidates, once in a while I do like meeting other people who like Clinton!

That's great for your son, and what a great experience for you to meet the candidates! I would love to.

So, are you democrat, republican, or something else?
Independent

Have you found anyone you support yet?
Sorta

Have you noticed any candidates you completely disagree with?
Yes

Oh and my teacher read us this book about a desk. Basically, the reason we're fighting this war is so every student in Iraq has the right to sit at a desk and learn.

But I'm just 12, six years away from voting, so my opinion doesn't really matter.
