Does anyone know what the current Incentives for going to a DVC presentation are? Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.
Thanks!

Disney does not give incentives for looking around. They will give you Fast Passes but that's the only thing they give you for taking a tour..They are not like Marriott that gives you cash up to $100 for taking a tour.

When I was in Disney last spring on a very cold day, we walked by the DVC booth at Downtown Disney and they offered us a $100 Disney gift card for taking the tour at Saratoga Springs center. It takes alot of time out of your day though, but I learned alot about DVC. They have a day care area and gave free ice cream to the kids. I ended up passing on the direct sale, but bought a small resale after listening and we love it. I'm not sure if they do the gift cards anymore, but I paid off some of my hotel bill with it and the kids were able to get some going home gifts. I'm not sure if they do the gift card all the time. I would ask the workers at the booths if you are there.

I had heard that they offer the 3 ride fp. I was just checking as that may be worth the time if it is in a break.

Unless you are interested in buying do not go on a sales presentation for Fast Passes. It will take you too much of valuable vacation time for a few FPs .. Stay at the parks and get your own Fast Passes.. You will be ahead of the game if you do.

We just did the tour on Tuesday and got 1 $15 gift card per person in the family ($75), ice cream, and a family photo. Not bad when we were looking for a cool place for the kids to hang out before heading to the airport. :)

I have some friends going to Hawaii next week. They would like to take a tour. Is that possible? What are incentives? What is the presentation there like? I remember we took one when Old Key West was first opening and the presentation was actually fun, no pressure and we got ice cream at the end and a phote. This friend has a 13 year old son- what would the son do while in the presentation or can he attend? Thanks in advance for any info.

I was at WDW last week and besides the free ice cream they gave each member of your family a INSTANT FAST PASS for the park to use on 3 rides each - valid for 3 days.

Good presentation, but I am torn wether to purchase from DVC or Resale - I am definetly leaning toward a Resale.

Good times to all!

Was it high pressure at all? This is actually my boss who is going so don't want to steer him wrong? When we took Old Key West Tour before when it first opened- there was a movie with cool effects- and just the facts. no real pressure. It was actually fun.
Also what is the tour like? What would their 13 year old son do-can he stay with them? Thanks for the update

Yes they can take a tour. If they would like to contact an onsite Aulani guide (which is my guide btw) just PM me. I donot know what the current incentives are. The presentation is low key like all the disney presentations I have been to and there are refreshments for everyone. There is a kids room but I think you son would not enjoy it very much as it is for younger kids. You do get to tour an actual aulani room before it opens to the public and you also get a sneak peak at the pools and waikohole valley. PM me if they would like a tour next week as I might want to go and see the progress also.

In the summer once nice incentive is that you get out of the heat, and have ice cream at the end!

We did the tour last week. They gave us a total of 4 3-ride VIP fastpasses.

It was very low pressure. It did take almost 3 hours for us, but it went so fast. We didn't mind as it was pouring the entire time we were in there.

Oh, and yes, we are purchasing, LOL!

I'm always amazed how some people will spend their valuable vacation time. If you're really not interested in possibly joining the DVC, why waste your time and let's not forget, the salesperson's time. Remember, these people get paid to sell DVC memberships not help you get out of the rain or the heat or to give you free ice cream.

DVD has the ability to weed out repeat customers and believe it or not, a good percentage of people who only went on the tour to get free ice cream end up buying. A experienced Guide can size up a potential buyer within a few minutes of talking to them.

DVD may have the ability to weed out repeat "customers" but they rarely do. I also have to disagree with your assessment that a good percentage of people who only went on the tour to get free ice cream end up buying. Yes, there are always the exceptions, but they are the small minority. The majority do not. An experienced guide is taught not to pre-judge anyone. Experienced guides may size up a potential "buyer" but the Disney philosophy is to give everyone a chance to buy, as they should, which in turn will last at least an hour and a half. It's still my opinion that vacation time is extremely valuable. If you feel ice cream is worth more than your vacation time, that's your prerogative but if you're really have no genuine interest in possibly joining, there are many other ways to spend your time at WDW.
