This may be the wrong place for this.:confused3 Anyway I need help!:scared1: I have four kids and have never had this problem. My DD4 didn't make much of a Christmas list this year and I feel like I don't have enough for her compared to her siblings.

I have gotten her a bike, swimming babydoll(the two things she did ask for),an ipod shuffle(she loves her brother's so I got her a refurbished one),webkinz, pajamas, coloring book, puzzle,HM doll, and two small art kits.

Her grandparents have gotten her a leapster and game, teacher barbie, pixos, babydoll,Crayola paint set,Crayola light up board, and a few clothes.

She doesn't like Dora or really any tv character. She doesn't watch much tv except for Jon and Kate plus Eight and Hannah Montana.

Anyway what did your little girls ask for?I am looking for things that cost under $50.Thanks!!:goodvibes

My dd is 5...she only asked for 4 things:
Kit and Ruthie American Girl dolls (over your $50 budget)
Barbie and the diamond castle doll Liana
Barbie and the diamond castle Liana dress (costume for dress up)

She's getting everything except Ruthie. Then we bought her another dress up outfit (she loves dress up), leapster game, puzzles, a jewelry box, some AG accessories (clothes and other things), some craft type items, clothes, and jewelry. Oh and she got a dollhouse so we bought her barbie furniture to fill the dollhouse.

Ideas:
My mom got dd a barbie doodle pro 16.99 Target
My mom also got her a barbie jet (39.99 is its list price at Kohls but my mom paid less with a coupon or on sale)
Games...dd loves games so I know my aunts have gotten her some card games and my dad bought both kids a board game

A friend's dd wants a cupcake maker (think easybake oven)
Easy bake oven
Does she like dress up? that is always a hit with dd and her friends
books, puzzles, color wonder sets
Littlest pet shop sets

That's all I can think of right now...it's late. We are going to a b-day party this weekend so I'm sure I would have many other ideas after I see dd's friend open her gifts. Right now that's about all I can think of. HTH!

Thanks!I am thinking the Barbie jet may be a good idea. She is just getting into Barbie. She has a ton of AG stuff. Some she has gotten in the past plus alot that was my DD9's.

When shopping for a 4-year-old who is not your daughter, you must also bear a few things in mind. Some parents have certain toys that they do not want in their home for their young girls. Brat dolls and play make-up, even Barbie, can be something that parents may be sensitive about. Take this factor into consideration, and be sure to ask parents if there are any toy restrictions before purchasing a toy that may not be appropriate.
---------------------------------------------------

You noted that your DD is getting a baby doll from her grandma, maybe a stroller or diaper bag set for the doll? Play Along Club dolls or Only Hearts Club dolls are some of my DDs favorites - she likes the fact that they are soft. We're also getting her some furniture for her dollhouse. Maybe a second game for her Leapster?

Like the above poster, my DD loves games, our favorites include Chutes and Ladders, Connect Four or any of her Melissa and Doug puzzles. Sorry I couldn't think of anymore, HTH.

My DD4 is HUGELY into Littlest Pet Shop and the Ponyvilles. This year the item she wants more than anything is the Ponyville amusement park. It has the rollercoaster and ferris wheel. That cost about $35. Both lines of those have a huge assortment of things with a very wide price range. As previous poster mentioned I am one of those Moms who doesn't allow the Bratz.

If your dd hung out with my dd, she'd probably get lots of ideas! She is constantly thinking of things to ask for!

We are only doing small gifts, however.

Things she is getting from us or other people:
Twister Hopscotch (this looks like a lot of fun)
Hannah Montana cd (she doesn't like the show, just the music, lol)
Enchanted dvd
Littlest Pet shop playset
puzzles
a Barbie computer game where you can put together outfits - iDesign or something like that
She wants clothes for her Ken doll - he's the only one who doesn't have a change of clothes, poor guy ;) She also thinks she needs another Barbie doll house, because she has so many that they won't all fit in the one she has!
books!

Books! I usually buy several books that would work for either DD (they're 5 and 3), then use those as needed, to even out the number of presents. It sounds like your DD is already getting a lot of nice stuff, and she's too young to figure out if the dollar-value is even with her siblings. It's probably more important to keep the number of packages about the same.

My DD (5) really likes to have tea parties and picnics. She already has tons of dishes but I bought a tea cart for her for Christmas so she can wheel it wherever to set up her tea parties/picnics. It was less than $20 at the Disney store.

If she likes games, we are getting my dd a lot of big kid games this year. She doesn't want to play HiHo Cherrio, Don't spill the Beans, etc. any more so we are doing a lot of bigger kid games. One game we have had for awhile that the whole family enjoy is Disney DVD bingo.

Any kind of arts and crafts projects or supplies are always a big hit in our house expecially painting suncatchers and other things.

Books, DVD's, etc are always good gifts too.

Polly Pockets seem to be a big hit with this age group as well.

Good luck!

My dd is getting a Bitty baby, and baby nursery furniture( Crib changing station,Car seat),barbie house and furniture, and a leapster with 3 games. My Mil got her a Tag reading system, My mom got her a barbie cruise ship, and my brother got her that little mommy gotta go doll( I really hate that thing)..seems like alot , but it is her Bday too.

Thanks for all the replies!:goodvibes

We have a ton of books from my older kids. She would probably like a new one though.:goodvibes

The tea cart sounds perfect.I wonder if they still have those at the Disney Store.I may check that out.My mom got her a couple of games. Not sure what though.I may get her a polly pocket for her stocking and see if she likes it.

We have two bitty babies, the twins and a ton of clothes. My oldest DD was really into AG for years. Both my girls want a baby bouncy seat but I am having a hard time finding them.I have been looking into the Tag system also. Was it very expensive?

The Tag system was I think $49 at costco and that came with 2 books.I saw it at traget for the same price with no books.

Looks like you've gotten a ton of good ideas.
I wanted to add that my dd likes those peekaboo barbies...kind of like polly pocket. Very cute. She got one for her b-day and likes to clip them on her bags or clothes.

We just got into these books called Fancy Nancy. My dd kind of likes them. I just heard about them from a friend so I read one to dd and she liked it. DD is pretty girly though so Fancy Nancy was right up her alley :rotfl:

The one other thing she enjoys that isn't a toy is workbooks. We got a few for her bday and she asks to do them often. We are doing kindergarten ones now but they have preschool books and really are very educational and fun for the kids. She also loves to color so markers, paints...anything crafty she loves too. She got a bracelet making kit for her b-day that she LOVES!

Sounds like you have a good list to choose from. I'm sure no matter what you get she'll love it!

My dd(4) loves sticker books.

She asked for the games hyper dash and zingos.

good luck.
I have never heard of those games,I will have to find them and look.:goodvibes She did ask for stickers so the sticker books may be a good idea.

Never heard of the peekaboo barbies either. My older DD never liked barbies so I am entering unchartered territory here.:confused3 The books and barbies may be something my MIL can give her.She called today needing ideas.:)

My DD loves workbooks. She is doing the kindergarten ones also. She likes to get them out when the older kids do their homework.:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the suggestions! :goodvibes I think I just got overwhelmed when I went shopping. She is not picky and told Santa last night to give her whatever he wants to bring her.
