Hi parents! I am looking for an activity/curriculum book I had when my oldest two were 2,3,4,5. It was purchased at Sam's Club and was a complete book of preschool activities and worksheets,crafts..... with a years worth of activities outlined calendar/grid style to do. Very organized. Had everything for a kid/parent to do from crafts, recipes, worksheets, field trips all based on a weekly theme. it basically outlined and gave you everything you needed without tons of research, etc.

I hope someone out there can help me locate a book like this. I remember it was big and soft sided with perforated pages to easily tear out.

Thank you!
Cari

Children that are 2,3,4,and 5 do not need curriculum workbooks. They do need to visits parks, zoos, museums. They need to visit the public library and be read to frequently. They need to have access to writing tools (markers, crayons, colored and regular leaded pencils), scissors, and paper to practice on. Adding chalk, paint, glue and other art materials will help children experience what art is supposed to be about- "creating" rather than a "finished" project like a teddy bear with the eyes in the right place.
Children need walks where they can explore nature on their own terms and not "we are looking for spiders because it is week 3 in our book and that is what is says to study!"
Please read any early childhood articles on what children at the pre-school level need and you will find it isn't found in a curriculum workbook.
Try the NAEYC website. (National Association for the Education of Young Children)

pfp thanks for the advice but that wasnt really what I was looking for ;)

When my oldest two were younger we had a book that was chock full of daily activities, recipes, songs, stories and it was a lot of fun to pull out and pick something new and different from our usual routines. So maybe the word "curriculum" wasnt really what I was getting at but I use it for lack of a better word. And yes kids at all ages like routine, structure and habit. Now that my yougest two are nearing preschool age I was wanting spice up our routines of park, zoo, childrens musuem, library activities, gymnastics and so forth.
:) Again, thank you for replying to my request!

It's not what you're looking for - but we use Hands on Homeschooling(age 2 is the book I have, but they go up to age 4 or 5) - has tons of crafts and recipies and ideas for field trips - sounds similar to what you are looking for. But I'm sure it won't be at a Sam's club price. It was around $90 when I bought it, but it's reusuable, so I can use it when all of my children get that age. I believe the website is handsonhomeschooling.com but I'm not positive. If you check on yahoo, you'll find it. They have the sample, so you can check into it and see if it's what you're looking for.

This is not what you are looking for either, but we use Funshine Express. I am homeschooling my 2 youngest kiddos and have a home daycare/preschool and this is what we use.
