Sorry, I know this gets asked a lot but I've always ignored it.

We are going to have the dining plan but I haven't added it yet.

I made ADR's already for August and it is charged to my credit card. If I call and add the dining plan, will they refund it because my reservation now had the DDP? Or do I have to pay for it now and then in 6 months when I use my dining plan credits it will refund me?

Do they mess up and not refund people? Will I possibly not be able to use my credits at the last minute?

You will be able to have your payment refunded. When you add the DDP, you can tell the CM you speak to you already have reservations. They will link the DDP and your resort reservation to your ADR and refund your CC. They just did this for me a few weeks ago.

While nobody's perfect and they certainly can make a mistake, I don't think WDW is in the business of trying to make paying customers angry by not giving them their money back. I really don't think it will be a problem for you. In the worst case scenario, the restaurant will issue the credit to your CC when you dine there if you want to use credits from the DDP.

I wasn't so worried that they would intentionally not refund me. I am the type of person who would forget that I am owed a refund and never think about it until months later- when it can be much harder to get things taken care of.
