Preparing for my trip...a few questions

2. Any tips for getting in and out of the Splash Mountain log? I have balance issues and I've heard it could be a challenge.

1. Is it practically empty during EMH or is it already a bit crowded?
Disneyland... I feel it depends on the time EMH begins. I love the 7am opening. You can really get lots done between 7am and 8am. Not as many people make it to this one. The 9am EMH are the busiest. By the end of the hour wait times are getting up there. It would be nice if more than Fantasyland and Tomorrowland were open during an early opening in DL.

California Adventure is about the same. Only I feel there are more rides open during the EMH time compared to DL's Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

2. Any tips for getting in and out of the Splash Mountain log? I have balance issues and I've heard it could be a challenge.
There is a rail on both the entry and exit side of the log. In the log you can steady yourself on the seat back. If you feel you need more assistance don't be afraid to ask the loading CM. Same when you return. They are very willing to help.

3. How do you get your Splash Mountain ride photo?
Once you exit the ride there is a bank of monitors for you to view your picture. Many people will snap a pic with their camera or cell phone. Notice the number on the photo, as you exit out of the ride area there is the Splash Mt Photo Shop. Tell the CM your number and you can buy a copy or have it added to your PhotoPass card

4. How long does it usually take to go through security?
I have only been once since the new system began. I went through security by DLH. It only took a few minutes, I think there were 5 or so people ahead of me.

5. If you leave the park and come back later in the day, do you go through security again?
If you leave the parks into DTD, you're fine. However, once you exit out of DTD past a security post then you'll have to come back through security to re-enter DTD.

6. Are there outlets for people for charge their phones?
I carry a small re-charge pod to recharge my phone in my backpack as I tour the parks. I don't want to be tied to an outlet while I'm visiting the parks.
I have heard there are lockers with charging outlet. I'm sure someone will be able to give you info on these.

1. EMH is already a bit crowded in DL, the earlier it starts the emptier it is.
2. Sorry can't help, it's a step down into the log and then a step up to get out. You can make two smaller steps but stepping onto the seat of the log.
3. It's shown at the end of the ride, you make note of the photo number and then you can buy it at a kiosk outside of the ride's end
4. Security varies based on time of day and where you enter. I'd say anywhere from 5-20 minutes.
5. If you only go into Downtown Disney no you don't have to go through security again. If you leave the area completely to return to your hotel for a nap say then yes you'll go through security again.
6. There aren't any outlets. They sell fuel rods there that will charge your phone and you can exchange for fresh ones or you can buy something similar before you go to the parks and charge it up each night to keep your phone at full power.

I always have someone with me who helps me out of the log. The CM will also help if you ask.

Earlier is way less crowded. However in Disneyland I feel there could be a lot more up and running this was really one of the only disappointments ... Never done one for DCA so can't say anything about that one.

They were telling the truth! I don't have any balance issues but it is a little awkward getting in an out big drop down in and big step up out. I'd say have someone in your party help support you or ask a CM. With the help you should be totally fine

3. How do you get your Splash Mountain ride photo? As you exit the ride there is a little stand to the right you can purchase the photo. Yes, def try to remember your photo number...but if not they can usually still find it, but it takes a bit longer.

4. How long does it usually take to go through security? literally this one varies SO much. Sometimes it is a breeze and other times it is a nightmare. the longest we waited one had to be close to 25 mins ...OY! most of the time it is less than 10 for us.

5. If you leave the park and come back later in the day, do you go through security again? Depends on where you go... to explore downtown Disney ..no.. but if you leave that area then yes!

6. Are there outlets for people for charge their phones? I have never charged my phone inside the park so I honestly don't know the answer to this one!

For the phone charging question - we've noticed our phones lose battery very quickly at DLR. We have a couple of these portable phone chargers that we bring with us, and they work great. This looks like the newer version. They take awhile to charge a phone, but they work like a charm and they're small and easy to carry around.
