preparing for first trip

We are getting ready for our first trip!! DD will be 9 months at time of travel. I have a couple of last minute questions.

Can you have pool toys? Floaties, etc?

How do you protect strollers in rain?

Does anyone bring floppy's for high chairs?

Yep, you can bring pool toys/floaties. Some folks bring plastic covers to put over the strollers when it looks like it may rain, I was never organized enough to remember that ahead of time, but I don't remember ever having a super wet stroller. They didn't have floppies when my kids were young, so I can't help you there! Anyone else????

Went this past Thanksgiving. Yes, we brought our Floppy seat cover. But only to dinners/lunches we had pre-planned and had gone back to the hotel room before going to. Simply because I didn't want to carry it around all day at the parks. When we ate on the fly or were at the parks already, I just wiped down the high chairs with my anti-bacterial wipes I had in the diaper bag.

My kids are way past the stroller age now but when we did take a stroller this is what I did. I bought a clear cheap shower curtain for about $2 at Wal-mart. I tied it to the handle of the stroller and would cover the stroller everytime we went in somewhere because it could rain with in a few minutes. I would tie the curtain to the bottom to hold it down in heavy rain. It worked great and was cheap.

I always bring a stroller plastic cover, because you might go into a ride while the sun is shinning and come out to a great shower, so better safe than sorry.

I just had old ponchos that if it rained i threw over the stroller.Worked real good and my son was able to still see out of the arm holes while being in there.

Our last trip with a stroller was several years ago, but we bought an adult sized poncho, put DD's head through and spread the rest over the stroller. It worked great! She was fully protected by the hood, but could still see out and everything else stayed dry even through a downpour. Bear in mind this was with a full sized stroller we brought with us. It would not work so well with the rentals because of their shape.
