Well the preparations really start in earnest this weekend.
:dance3: :laundy:

Although we dont arrive at DLP until 9th April (Easter Monday) we leave for France next weekend.:cheer2: :cheer2:

Plans are

Sat - leave home and drive down to Travel Lodge near Ashford (booked for £15)
Sun- As early a shuttle through tunnel as we can make. We are booked for about 11.00 but are hoping to get there much earlier. They usually then put you on next available.
We will then drive (or DH will) to campsite where we are staying for week - in mobile home not a tent.

We then intend to have a relaxing week on the site and in the local area swimming, walking, browsing round markets (We love French markets for some reason), eating etc

The campsite arranges day trips to Paris which we did last year. We may go again this year but have just spent 4 days in Paris last month. We LOVE Paris but it was a long trip there by coach. We'll see what the weathers like and how we feel.

There are also day trips arranged to DLP which I know Im going to have to make sure DH avoids as he has been talking about going for a day during that week as well (Hes more addicted than me if thats possible!!!)

Really we just want to spend that week winding down from work and relaxing.:goodvibes :goodvibes

Then the Disney part of the trip:cheer2: :cheer2:

We will get up very early Easter Monday  and head to DLP (about 40mins drive) .
We hope to arrive early enough to book into Santa Fe, collect our tickets and then head to the Park to take advantage of some of EMH before the crowds arrive at 10.00

Nothing booked yet for meals but think we may book Walts for that evening.

Day 2- Have character breakfast booked so hope again to get into park during EMH. Spend day between the 2 parks. We then have Buffalo Bills in evening and then back into park afterwards

Day 3 - Unsure yet whether to have early breakfast, late breakfast after EMH, or skip breakfast. Either way we need to check out of Santa Fe and into Explorers at some point but again the whole day in the parks.

Day 4 and 5- Staying at Explorers and dont have park tickets. DH did suggest getting day passes but I think after 3 long days in park (EMH 8.00- park close 22.00) we'll be happy to just spend time in Village (probably Character meal at Mickeys), in hotel pool and at Shopping Centre.

We are booked back on shuttle on day 5 late in evening and then staying in Travel Lodge again- £15 before heading home:sad2: :sad2:

So this weekend (including today as Ive taken a day off work:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: ) is shopping for food for 1st part of trip, shopping for food for DSs who are staying at home, packing and sorting out everything we need to take.

The beauty of going by car is that everything can be thrown into boot but the disadvantage is I have a habit of taking too many 'just in case' items

It sounds like we might be travelling through the tunnel at the same time!! :thumbsup2 We are travelling down Sunday week and have a tunnel time of about 11.00am. If we can go earlier we will too. We are staying in a mobile home on a campsite near Touquin called l'etang fleuris and doing Disneyland that week. :dumbo: :dumbo: :dumbo:

May see you on the train then.

We are not staying at the same campsite though. Ours is in Berny Riviere near Soissons and Compiegne.

Have a good relaxing and exciting time

After our week visiting disneyland while staying at Touquin (exciting), we are staying 3 nights at Bernie Riviere (relaxing hopefully) to break the journey on the way back. Have not stayed there before so looking forward to this and chilling out after doing theme parks. You mention that you stayed there last year - can you reccomend any restaurants in the area?

Speaking of chilling - we stayed in a mobile home at Touquin when we visited Disneyland last May. The weather was very cold for the time of year and we were absolutely frozen at night even with the heater on all the time. The blankets they provided - one each - were totally inadequate. :cold: This Easter we are taking sleeping bags and a fan heater! Also taking bath mat and cheese grater which we really missed last year.

I am so excited now - more than the children I think!!:yay:

We will probably be leaving Berny Riviere as you arrive. (We leave Easter Monday).

We didnt eat out a lot in the area last year. the campsite restaurant was very nice and we ate there twice. There was a set menu and other options available and also childrens menu. The pizzas from the takeaway were also very nice.

It is also a nice relaxing site as it is nice to walk around the lakes and along the river. The pool is also very good (covered).:goodvibes

Last year we had booked the site for 2 weeks and then decided to have a few days at DLP so we left everything there and returned after spending 3 days at Santa Fe. It was nice to wind down afterwards.

This year we've only booked for the first week then moving to DLP. Im hoping to do the wind down when we have the 2 nights at Explorers as we dont have park tickets for thise days so it will be winding down in the village and hotel.

Have fun.
:cheer2: :cheer2:

Like you I cant wait :cheer2: :cheer2:
