Prepaid Meals

We are taking a trip to Disney in April and several of our of ADRs are prepaid in full; we are not on the dining plan. I read somewhere that I'll need to show the credit card that I booked with when we arrive. Is this true? Am I correct in assuming that we won't receive a bill at the end of our meal (assuming no one orders anything extra) since it has been charged to my credit card already? Thank you!

I know someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure when you give them your credit card, you are not pre-paying for your meal. It is to hold your reservation; and if you are a no-show, they will charge you a fee to the credit card they have on file. You will receive a bill at the end of your meal.

okay, so I just read your question a little more closely ~ have you actually seen the charge for your meal on your credit card? I know I have given a CC to hold my reservation before, but nothing was ever charged (b/c we showed up and used an alternate payment method).

Some meals like CRT and HDDR are actually prepaid. They are charged out when booked. I believe you just need your confirmation number. Im not sure if tip is included or not. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will respond.

Gotcha ~ we have done CRT twice and I never got a charge after giving them my CC number, but we did use the DDP!

Just for future reference, b/c we are not getting the DDP on our next trip ~ do they actually run your card when you make a reservation, or is it done after your actually go? For planning, it might be nice to have it paid ahead (as far as budgeting), but how does that work if you do have to cancel?

Naturally, if you are on the DDP, your cc would not be charged for a prepaid meal- you are using your dining credits to pay.

If you are paying for a prepaid meal OOP, your credit card is charged at the time of booking. This is true for CRT, all of the dinner shows, and the F. dining package. I can't remember if this is also true for the Candlelight Processional during the Christmas season.

If you have to cancel, you must do it ahead of time. Your money will be refunded as a credit to your cc.

To the OP- you won't need your credit card, just your confirmation numbers. The only time we have had an extra bill at the end of the meal was if we ordered alcohol that wasn't included in the meal. Tips are included in some meals but not in others. Check the official website for that information.

Our credit card was not charged for the Fantasmic Package but we did have to give one when we booked. The dinner shows and CRT are the only ones I know of that charge you right away.

Thank you for the clarification!! I am pretty sure that we will be doing CRT ~ I kind of like the idea that we will be charged when we make our ressies (6 months out!) ~ one less thing to have to pay for when we are at WDW.

We prepaid at CRT and did not have any problems with a double bill (but I remember being worried about it).

Thanks so much! Answered my questions! 2 of the meals were charged in full at booking (Mickey's Backyard BBQ and Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party). The others we'll be prepared to pay for there!
