So I called planning today to add a third option for Fantasmic. I found out that we were the first people in line for booking...heehee so our chances are pretty sweet for balcony:cool1: Then I asked about outside dining options in CA so that we could be on the electical parade route and not have to fight the crowds to see. But that option didn't seem a for sure and we only have the one night to see it. She then said there was premium seating for the parade,a wine and cheese type buffet,so now we are on the list for that too. :woohoo: :cool1: Did you know about that option?

How much for the wine and cheese thing for the parade, that sounds like my type of parade watching......

59.00 so kinda pricey but I really don't want to fight for a seat and wait forever:yay:

So now it's got me wondering if there is premium seating for fireworks?

oooooo,thanks Albort:love:
I'm calling back on tuesday for some dining stuff so I'll inquire:thumbsup2
I'm going to feel like a queen when I'm there:tinker: with all this premium seating:woohoo:

I know that the 50th tour had firework seating. It was at the trainstation on mainstreet. Its not really the best place to watch from.

Sounds awesome! I wish Fantasmic wasn't closed during our trip but at least there's always the Electrical Parade!

I am in no way trying to sway you from doing this, but wanted to say that there is usually no problem getting good viewing for the Electrical Parade. Its a pretty long route and given the fact that DCA doesn't draw huge crowds its not a problem. Also, now that you cannot see the EP and Remember the same night since they have made that pretty much impossible, that also makes seeing the EP easier since most people will want to see Remember. I have done the F! balcony and would totally do that again since seeing F! gets tricky to the point we frequently don't see it. But the EP is a whole different story.

That does sound like a lot of fun (and quite tasty too)!

Gotta agree with Amy, I've almost always have gotten great front seating for the EP with not that long of waiting. I think last time I sat down 30 minutes before the parade? And honestly I probably could have waited even a little bit longer, but I just wanted to make sure I got the good seating.

Those that didn't get good seats were usually those wondered up while the parade was starting at the last minute. A few times we've had kids think it was okay to come up behind us and squeeze between us and practically sit on our laps, while screaming "GOOFY" in our ears! Um no, come a tad bit earlier if you want front seating! Really I've never found it a problem. F! I would totally pay for it, but not EP.

I agree with AmyandDan & JenDisneylandlver. In my opinion, it is not hard to get a good view of the electrical parade. It's not nearly as crowded as it was when it went down Main Street.

I am soooooooooo the same way as you Jen but you know that reminds me...in Feb when I went to DL, I got a fab spot for the parade at night and it was along main st and I had gotten there waaaaaaaaaaay early...well as we all know it gets really really crowded and these people came and did that to us trying to push their little girl up and practically rammed her knees in my back and I turned around and said uh excuse me! there is no room up here and your kids feet are kicking me...if they want to get a spot then they should come 12 hours early like I did...who do they think they are??? well when the parade started my cold ice queen heart began melting and I turned around and pulled the girl up in front of me so she could see...what a sucker I am!!:lmao: I guess in reality its not the kids faults they dont get there to stake out seats you know?:confused3 and disneyland has a way of making me nice...sometimes;) :rotfl:

I Disagree :) This week, the crowding is pretty unbelievable at DCA. Many MANY cast members are amazed. Walking down the parade route, its entirely PACKED!

Where is the best place to view the EP from in DCA? I heard that in front of a bugs life is good, but is there any other area?

Oh I know, I've actually done that at the Parade of Dreams on main street. I was able to back up just a tad so that two small kids could sit right in front of me. The kids were real sweet, not kicking me or screaming in my ears. Just kinda sittin there, not really able to see! They were so excited to sit up front.

I think it was just the way those kids were screaming in our ears, and when I turned around the parents basically gave me a "I don't care, too bad" look. So I really didn't feel like doing them any favors! But beyond my pet peeve of rude people, I agree! LOL It's not the kids fault, and I don't mind moving back for kids to see, I think all kids should be able to experience it like that!

Well we only have the one chance to see the parade on june 10th,then it isn't offered during the week until the following weekend and then we are doing the fantasmic the fri and probably the fireworks the final sat night. The night of the electrical parade is the night before the opening of nemo and I am paranoid it could be CRAZY so I just want to avoid the crowds at all costs. I thought it would be a neat thing to do the very first night we get in:banana: :woohoo:

The ELP seating is above the walkway in the Wine Country Trattoria area. If you want to be part of the action and sit near the parade, this seating is not optimal.

oh well,I think trying to squeeze in would bug me and we have no kids so as long as we see it and not have to try and see over some guys head that is all fine by me and plus there's wine:yay:
the more I think about the week we are going the more I freak out and think it could be the busiest it's been in a while..way more people could be there because of nemo and I just want to make sure we make the most of the craziness:banana:

If you go down on the Paradise Pier end of the parade about 30 minutes before showtime, you can get front row seats, even on really crowded days. If you go 30 minutes before showtime near the main entrance, you probably won't - and you will also have to wait longer because the parade doesn't make it up there until about 9:00. The area near the front starts really filling up about an hour before the parade.

I think you should go for it. This sounds like a special trip and since its just two of you the cost won't be awful. And from what Albort said, the EP is very crowded right now. Although with Spring Break and no Fantasmic I am not surprised. Its just back up after its winter down time so I am sure its very crowded indeed. I just responded about not having ever had a hard time getting good viewing more for people subscribing to the thread and doing their planning. Not at all to talk you out of it. Believe me, if I didn't have the kids and inlaws with me, I'd be very tempted for the wine alone!
