Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

i'm not sure but i am under the impression that bus service doesn't begin early enough to make the 7:30 segway at Epcot. Remember, depending on how you 'catch' them (like if one JUST left when you get to the stop) bus service can take an hour to get from one place to another on property.

I just feel etter having a car at my disposal so I know I can make my reservations.

You're right... I've watched those buses leave without us many times!

Okay...we just received our vouchers in the mail. We'll be doing the premium plan in a little over 3 weeks. I admit that I've only read part of this thread, but I have several questions now that I look at the vouchers.

First off, our itinerary shows one premium meal plan per person, per night. Does this mean three table service meals per night, or two? Now I'm confused!

You are there for one night and so you each get the meal plan for that night which includes 3 meals. You get to use the three meals, however, over the course of your two days.

Next, our guided fishing excursion voucher has "15% off the regular price..." Our fishing excusrion is still free on the plan, right? Still free. These are just vouchers for discounts you might want to use at another time.

Also, our Sammy Duval's voucher says, "Enjoy 10% off the regualr price of all activities..." All watersport activities are free with the package, right? Still free.

And... our WDW Marina voucher states, "Receiver 15% off..."
It's still free to do our watercraft activities on the plan, right? Still free.

Lastly, do I wait to activate our card with our unique Photopass number untill right before we leave so that we have longer time to edit our photos? Be forewarned, the photopass CD is not included in the premium package. If you want the CD you will have to pay for it. In addition, the photo sessions are no longer included (they were allowing the photo session in January and February but no more as of March 1 -- I called to check several times hoping each time for a different answer.

I'm so confused!!

The "Package Inclusions" listing that I printed out while booking my Platinum plan clearly lists the photo session as being included:

"One portrait session and print package from Disney's Photopass Professional Portraits service."

I just booked my Platinum package on Sunday, and as I said above, the "Package Inclusions" listing I printed out during the booking process clearly lists it.

I wasn't even going to use it, but I think I will now.

I have been told by 2 different CM's (Poly IPO and PhotoPass) that the photo sessions are no longer included. However, when I emailed Disney for clarification (because it is still listed as included on the website in a couple of different places), the answer I received indicated it WAS still included. My guess right now is that it is being phased out and eventually will definitely NOT be included anymore.

We decided that we are going to do it anyway - as irritating as it might be I'm getting more than my money's worth out of our Platinum night, so I'll fork over the extra 50 bucks if, in fact, they determine it is NOT included when we get there.
(I know the portrait session is listed as $99.95 - which I believe is $50 sitting fee and $49.95 for the portrait CD. The sitting fee used to be covered by the packages but you always had to pay extra for the portrait CD - at least that is my understanding).

I printed off the email, but I'm sure it will hold no water simply because it always says "subject to change at any time and without notice" (or something along those lines)...

My "Package Inclusions" listing also lists the photo CD!! Why would they not include my photo session photos on the CD that is already included?

ETA: Oh, and my printout also has the date I printed it (the date I made my platinum reservation). I'm not sure how they could try to deny it since it was clearly included on the day I booked!

It's a little more "real" for me now-I finally got everything booked the way I wanted.

In addition to everything we get to do on the Premium plan, DS is enrolled in the Disney YES program and will be taking a technology class at Epcot while we are there, he is really excited about getting that opportunity.

There were other things I wanted to include, but I think that we are going to be pushing ourselves now.

We did a comparison of just going DXDP for the whole time and paying OOP for Cirque and Fulton's and it would have cost us more and would have eliminated the 2 tours and fishing excursion. If you have the time and can do it, these plans are truly a bargain! Hopefully Disney doesn't catch on to it and change it, lol.

FYI:
Not sure if it has been discussed yet but it appears that all seating Categories are now available for HDDR on Prem/Plat plans. When I booked HDDR just a while ago I was offered Cat 1 or Cat 3, I asked him to be sure if Cat 1 was included and he verified that it was. After booking I pulled up my ADR and viewed the details, in the box that lists the DP options it does say all categories included on Prem/Plat. I am booked Cat 1 and although I put up a CC to hold the ADR it was not charged.

Not at all a waste!! This is our absolute favorite AK restaurant and we have been known to go to the park just to eat there (and use that as an excuse to ride Expedition Everest)!

Don't miss the fried green beans and pot stickers!

you guys are killing me I have a two adult two night and two day resort credit and was thinking of just planning a weekend getaway. But now I'm tempted to add one day in the middle and do this hrmmm the temptation is huge.

That is so good to hear. I know DS will get the pot stickers, DH will probably get the wings, and I'm already agonizing over lettuce cups or green beans-oh the misery of having to choose

This may be a stupid question and I'm not trying to get flamed but...

If you are staying on DVC points, and want to do a one night premium plan, I realize that you can not. If you have a reservation at POP for one night you can make it a premium. My question is can you book a room at POP and pay cash, but not check out of your DVC resort (but still pay for the same night with your points?)

I don't want to move. (DS 10, going for 2 weeks, too much hassle.) We would go over to POP early in the am, check in, and use the premium plan for a night. We would however return to our DVC resort. I'm sure this is illegal in someone's book, and I know Disney stopped doing Premium with the camp grounds for this reason. Any thoughts?

IMHO, I don't see why you can't do this.

You are not taking a discounted room since you can't book the Prem/Plat plans with a discount.

With the campgrounds I think that is different since there are a limited number of campsites that by booking it that way you could potentially taking a spot that someone else does need to use. Whereas at PoP or any of the values there are substantially more rooms and I doubt there are many times when there are NO value rooms available.

I think that what you are wanting to do is even suggested by Mary over at mousesavers for people who do not want to switch resorts.

Thanks for the thoughts. We camp too, so I know how difficult those can be to get. But I figured since the value resorts have so many rooms, it may not be a problem. The cash cost for a night at BLT is 435.00 vs. POP at 144. That extra 300+/- could be some spending money for my son and tips at the restaurants. It is 22 points for a Friday night at BLT, and at approx. 10.00 per point, that would be 220.00, plus the cost of POP at 144.00, bringing the "cost" to about 364.00. Only 79.00 or so difference if I look at it that way, but not having to move and know we could settle in easily at night is a great thought.

Believe it or not this IS considered double booking. The reason I know this is because I had a free dining reservation for 4 nights. While I was there I tried to book a night at the BCV using my points. I mistakenly told them I was already there on free dining and I was told by DVC I could not double book.

Now, despite this, I feel pretty certain that you could have a DVC reservation AND do the premium plan for one night at POP without the two reservations crossing over, but I am just sharing my experience because I did not think I was doing anything wrong at the time.

I would love to do the same thing you are suggesting, but I won't because of my previous experience and my DH follows rules to a T, so he would never go for it.

I still have a hard time understanding why its double booking when one reservation was cash and one was on points.
