Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

Yes, that sounds right! I dont know how many people are in your party but each person will get 2 snacks. It has also been reported on here, although I'm not sure its 100% confirmed that it will happen everywhere, that if you are on the platinum package you will have access to the concierge lounge during the 2 days of your platinum package. Once you make your reservation and start talking to IPO about itineraries I'd ask them if that holds true at Grand Floridian, if so you could eat breakfast in the lounge and also partake in other snacks (and beverages!) throughout the day if you have time.

I have just sent an email to my IPO regarding the use of the lounge area for being on the platinum plan but not the club level room guest. I will post their response as I get it.:wizard:

As promised, I got a response from my IPO. Behold...

Dumela!
We do give our Platinum Plan guests who are booked in regular rooms access to the club level at this time. This is not necessarily a benifit of the package but at this time it is the policy of our managers. We do not anticipate a change at this time but we cannot guarantee that it will not change before you arrive. We hope to be able to offer you this additional service.

Thanks to this thread :worship: we're going to add a Platinum Plan day at the Grand Floridian to our December 2011 trip. I'm thinking that on day one we'll do breakfast at Akershus, the Dolphins in Depth tour at Epcot, Lunch at Le Cellier, massages at GF, the portrait package at GF, dinner at Victoria and Albert's and the Wishes cruise, and on day two we'll do breakfast at Boma, Disney’s Backstage Safari Tour at Animal Kingdom, lunch to be determined, Bass Fishing, TAKE A NAP, and dinner at California Grill. :cool1:

Plus, we'll be getting a Photopass CD, and refillable mugs!!

I need a nap after reading it! :lmao: Sounds like a GREAT plan and a great use of the time.

My question is: Are you pretty much guaranteed the dining you want if you're on the Premium or Plat plans? Do the restaurants "make room" if you want to dine at Le Cellier or any other "hot ticket" restaurant?

It's my understanding that the Platinum Plan has use of the IPO service, and that yes, they are able to get difficult TS ressies, but as always, I'll have backups if needed.

Since I won't have to eat so much, I think I'll redo the schedule and cram more in to my two days. :rotfl2:

I am not so sure that the premium plan will, but I do get the "feeling" that being on the platinum might come with some special perks after talking with my IPO. If you are planning to do one of these plans and want to eat at the completely booked Le Cellier, you should definitely ask your IPO when booking your ADR's. We got our ADR's done months ahead and basically got to pick the time and place we wanted. :thumbsup2

Yes and no. IPO seems to be able to do magic and maybe they get first chance at any tables that are released, but I also know it can happen that they just can't get you in. So make a plan as far in advance as you can!

Excellent news about CL, that is a nice fast way to grab breakfast. We'll be out and running all day both days, so I doubt we'll be able to use it much.

I hope this is so at the GF!

With premium you make your own dinner reservations and have pretty much the same access to reservation times as any other guest. No special perks there.

Regarding platinum, since you are able to use the Itinerary Planning Office (IPO) theoretically if you let them know in advance of you 180 days what reservations you want they should be able to get you exactly what you want at the 180 day mark. However, after that time I wouldn't bank on receiving special access to booked up restaurants. I have heard that IPO's can sometimes get you sepcial reservations at the resort you are staying at but outside that they have little control. For example, I am staying CL level at Polynesian in a few weeks and I asked the IPO if they could get me an earlier reservation than 9:35 pm at California Grill, since I knew the website showed nothing. The IPO couldn't get me anything earlier either.
That's not to say some pixie dust couldn't happen, I just wouldn't count on it.

Keep trying for that California Grill ressie, I finally snagged one today for 6:30 pm on 8/16, I have been trying every day for weeks and all that showed ever was a 9:30, today I finally lucked out!

I am thinking of doing this during our vacation in October/November. It will just be me and my 2 year old son, who will be turning 3 at the end of the vacation. I would like to do some adult things and with the platinum plan, it looks like you get free in-room babysitting.

Would I be able to bring the babysitter along to some of the things like parasailing or to the richard petty driving experience, so my son can be there? Seems kinda sad doing it all by myself, lol!

Definitely want to do it before my son turns 3 though, so that I just pay for me.

I contacted the wilderness lodge IPO about the club level lounge and unfortunately they DO NOT offer it to platinum guests. :(

I'm not sure I understand. Can someone PM me with the details? Right now we've got ressies for Jr Suite concierge at WL for nov 28th through dec 5th. I'm debating on changing it to 2 rooms at WL and partaking in free dining from nov 30th through dec 6th and then upgrading to deluxe dining. Doing the one night premium would it be benificial to do this for a family of 6? Is it something we could even do with our ressie options?

Is this something you can do at a DVC resort? (Renting points from a private member or using a vendor to rent points specifically.)

I booked the rooms tonight. Still need to upgrade to Platinum for the one or two nights, but I did confirm I can do this on an AP package :thumbsup2

Well be at AKL CL Feb 5th-13th. I am so excited!

You can, but it would mean 3 separate reservations. No worries there as they can link them and the only slight hassle is checking out/in two extra times. The premium plan might be worth thinking about, not sure if I'd do Platinum with kids that young. The use of the kids club is nice but there are very few tours for young kids. Winter might be a little cold for water sports (although it will not stop me).

I don't know, call CRO and ask. I was just told "you can always upgrade any reservation" but renting points is it's own animal. If you can't you could always think about a one night reservation at the camp grounds with the premium plan. Keep the other room and just leave the site empty. You can more than make up in value the cost of a camp site!

Ooh...that's a good idea. I also had thought about doing a split stay with POP or POFQ to miss the high cost of the weekend so I guess I could do Premium that way too... does anyone know if the Princess Tea or Richard Petty Driving Experience are on either plan?

ETA: I just found the RPE in the Platinum plan, but didn't see anything about the tea.

Did they tell you can add the platinum plan to a room that was booked with an AP discount??? I thought you couldn't do this. Please let us know when you add it if it works out ok. I know I looked up some rates with the AP discount through the AP site and although you could add the two dining plans there was no way to add platinum/premium package. Do you think if you call they can add it manually?

I am pretty sure you can't add it to a DVC reservation booked with points, whether they are your points or you are renting them from a member. I think you CAN add it if you book a DVC room through Disney and pay cash (and rack rate).

Can someone please verify that the Premium Plan includes unlimited Bass guided fishing excursions??

I am reading 10% off in one place and unlimited on another. :confused3

Hubby NEEDS to know. Thank you! :)
