I knew I had read that it becomes a problem after check-out even though your stuff is supposedly good until Midnight of the day you check-out.
However, once they do whatever they do for their computer processing (I'm thinking after check-out time?), your card goes into never, never land.
We did an end the package and then do room only afterward type of thing.
On our last "package" day - we had dinner and they had a problem with our card. A manager had to get invovled and they had to call the hotel. The waitress mentioned something about the checking out/new cards, etc.. I tried to explain, yes I understand that but it was still good until midnight, etc... It wasn't a problem, she said we still had credits left and had 4 left (we had calculated we had 3 left after dinner).
Went to the food court around 10:30-11:00 (Hey, we weren't going to waste those 3 credits!
), I WARNED the person that it was going to be a problem but that we still had credits and sure enough she swipes it and it says "No coupons" - she tells me the card says it doesn't have any coupon plan on it, I explain AGAIN how, it's because we checked out already on this card, that there should be 3 credits on it and you need to call the hotel (we were IN the hotel even!), she called, had no idea what she was doing. Tried to find a manager which is not to be found that late at night I guess. LOL! There was a long line (so for those of you that happened to be at the Food & Fun Center at the Contemporary late Sunday night with a backed up line, my apologies it was me causing the delay but I was standing my ground as we were entitled to those 3 credits - plus I had no other means to pay on me!). Finally, the person on the phone just tells the cashier to just let me have the food and they will deal with it later!
I don't know if the Dining plan would have the same issues but possibly, since I would think most people wouldn't *really* be there until Midnight using the dining credits after they have checked out of the hotel.
Now we had breakfast in the Castle that morning and there wasn't a problem, I went on the Family Magic Tour and the card went right through and that was at 10:00 AM - so I'm thinking it *has* to be after the 11 AM check-out time is when the computer system goes haywire for the dining plans.
